Well, I got the RB25 turbo on without much trouble. The exhaust ended up great... I picked up some 3" pipe from a muffler shop in town and got it welded up the week I was not up here in MI.

Unfortuneatley... the car ended up on a flat bed. So I told my friend who knows what he is doing around a car not to take the joint off of the steering rack in order to straighten the steering wheel b/c he said he would do that while I was working on the turbo/exh to help out. Well I guess he forgot and the only thing that messed up on the car was that... the threds on the screw that hold it on were kind of buggered when I first took it off back a year and a half ago, but I got it on without much trouble and it was holding fine... until my friend tried to fix the steering wheel.

So long story short... I get the car running just in time to head back up to MI (without the car) but short 2 crush washers on the turbo, so it's leaking a bit of coolant (my hometown doesn't carry sizes big enough... anywhere... it's not a car town really... ie. I asked the guy at home depot if they have anything for banjo fittings at all... he said no and that I should try a music store... enough said). So back to the lengthening short story... I start driving it home and it starts to over heat due to expected obvious reasons. I cut it off and coast into a gas station... and the steering starts to skip teeth... and finally just turns freely, but after I had pulled safely into a corner... straight.

So I look over, and low and behold... this is my day. There is a flat bed there that had just unlocked some girls car and was about to leave, but I caught him. So now the car's sitting at home waiting till I bring it up here on a trailer to work on it some more in January. The spool on the 25 turbo is really clean though... can't wait till it's ready and I can give it some stick. Regardless, I am very fortunate.

Here are pictures:

As for the exh... this is how low it use to be...

I take it your rb25 turbo didnt have the crush washers on it, i see you were able to keep the heat sheild, looks good, did you swap the wastegates with the rb20 turbo?

Lol, you should've asked him for a crush washer... maybe he'd have sent you to the appliance section.

Thanks.

No crush washers... I'll pick some up while I'm here in MI. They even had them when I was in SC... just not where I'm from.

I'd swap the actuator if it was different, but the T3/T4 actuator I was running is sprung to the same boost pressure as the RB25. I'll just make a ball and spring boost controller for now... but this is after the steering is fixed of course.

Yeah thats a better way just to get a MBC remember we were talking about the fmic on my car on aim, well when i got off work at 2 am i pulled my car in the hangar and went to work on it, its in pipeing and all, pulles nicely in the top end now since i dont have the sidemount interheater, exept when the coupling pops off sounding like the blow off from hell under full boost, haha.
