Let's see how this goes. I took it in for an oil change (I had an awesome coupon that was worth me not crawling under the car)
Also for a couple of other silly concerns: A rattle under the shifter that I have been chasing since it was new. The brakes squeak and scratch like mad after the car has sat for about an hour or so. And the engine is freaking loud in the morning when in gear, it sounds like a valve lifter issue but we'll seeee.....
I brought them donuts and am a former Service Advisor from a dealership so lets see how this goes. Wish me luck !!!!!

So as I pulled into the dealership yesterday at 4:40, my car passed me going the opposite way out of the dealership indicating a test drive. I was told the oil change was dine and the brake concern handled. My advisor said to bring the car back or leave it, so I left it and we will see what the rest of today brings.

SO get this....... The Sentra needs a new engine, my "tick" is apparently a lower end rod knock. I am bringing the car back on Monday to have the inspection done so the Advisor can verify the concern and put the claim into nissan to order an engine. I will then bring the car back to have the engine replaced.
But on a side note, the front rotors were glazed and were resurfaced so the noise is gone and the oil is changed !!!! $28.31 after tax, total. I am so NOT going under my car and having hot oil in my face on the cold cement for that.

Yea,

It was said "lets try that first" and see if the noise gets less intense, and it didn,t. O well, just another service receipt to show Nissan if they need one. Going back in Monday.....

This is actually quite common. I have 3 short blocks in my bay right now "old ones" 2 are for the egg shape bores that with lack of proper oil changes end up with fused piston rings, and 1 with a number 3 rod knock. The Versa 1.8 comes stock with a rod knock, free of charge. Fixed in the new HB16 though.
