Well the other day I saw the guy post about a Pontiac and I just wanted to suck the nuts of another car I feel is incredible:

The 2009 CTS-V.

http://www.automobilemag.com/a....html

Anyone in the market for this bad boy? It ran Nurburg in 7:54, which is fing psycho for a car in its competition range. For comparison, a lambo ran it in 7:45 and a z06 in 7:42. Look out M5 and C 63 owners!

Now, if we can only get the g50 sometime soon...

Not only that but if you watch the video of the lap you see the driver never once touches anything besides the steering wheel. The car does all the up and down shifting perfect for the lap....

I always liked the older cts-v as a sleeper...the new one should be amazing...although I dunno still if i'd pick it over the M5....i mean it might be faster around a track, but how's it on the street?

pretty safe to say, track driving tests the cars handling capabilities more than street driving...

that said how much will the price be?

The old CTV ran a little over $81,000 + options. The new one should be a little on the south side of $100,000. That's about $20,000 over the cost of a 911, and there is no comparison when it comes to class and quality. Just my opinion.

everyone has an opinion, quite simply i believe this may be the best 4 door super car.

however, i respectfully say if you pass on a gt-r for a 911, you sir should be slapped.

Sometimes you've just got to suffer and drive one of those German cars like the 911 GT2.

Sorry Snowbird... A very wealthy financial investor in my office building has a new Koeniggsegg CCX and he left the window sticker on it... without all taxes and delivery fees it came to $1,050,000.00 Kind of in a league of its own far out of the sights of the GT-R.

On another note, I must respectfully conquer with RN79870 that the Porsche would be +1 for the $100k market in my book.

yes the gt2 is sick, even sicker than the gt3 rs by far. but assuredly it is way more expensive (nearly 100 grand more) than a gt-r for essentially the same performance package. plus the gt-r comes with brembos

Looks great - fast as anything out there - too bad that by 25,000 miles it will be falling apart, unless GM has made some DRASTIC quality improvements I'm not aware of.

Why not pull out all the stops. here's a MB that's not too bad...or maybe not...

LA based car dealer Mark Johnston bought the car of his dreams a Mercedes AMG CLK-GTR Limited Edition Roadster for $ 1.7 million. Only 5 of these speed machines were made and this baby had entered the Guiness book of records as the most expensive production car. Mr Johnston was the proud owner of the only CLK-GTR in North America. The silver AMG Roadster is a product of DaimlerChrysler’s long collaboration with H.W.A. and Mercedes-AMG, two German manufacturers of racing and high-end performance vehicles. But the car proved to be an expensive piece of scrap metal as after cruising in it for the first time after covering 10 city blocks the oil light came up which has not been fixed yet. After this the roadster’s transmission failed to shift properly. Additionally, the hydraulic jack system failed and the windows became unglued, Mercedes sent and engineer from Germany who dismantled the car and took with him a number of parts to Germany to never install them again.

After filing a law suit Mr. johnson said...

“We continue to be dumbfounded by the unwillingness DaimlerChrysler, Mercedes and the other defendants have shown in owning up to the problems of their vehicle — the other manufacturers we deal with would never operate this way,” explained Mr. Johnston. “It’s unfortunate the defendants have forced us to bring a lawsuit in order to have our contract honored. We obviously cannot sell the car in its current condition, which right now represents nearly $2 million of scrap metal.”

Moral: Never buy the first year model.

Yeah, but the 911 looks like a Rembrandt, the GT R a Picasso.

The Picasso GT R reminds me of Maynard in CARS. It just needs a little grill work and it will be there. See the resemblance ???

Are you a comedian in real life or are you just an exciting piece of God's creation? You make me laugh all the time. That story of the MB GT-R was just too funny. Where do you get the stories and the pictures you post on this forum? Very exciting and funny stories!

WHOA, 81k? are you serious? maybe CA market adjustment, but here in old slow indiana, it was selling for 51k new, sticker. I COULD be wrong, but i practically stalk the dealers of the cars we have in the garage and since im responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of my parents vehicles, mom's 02 Escalade has been in enough times for me to have spent alot of time with the old CTS-V. The STS-V, now thats a 85k car. The XLR-V was 100k, the most expensive GM car until the new ZR-1 Vette drops.

CTS-V -- 51kSTS-V -- 81kXLR-V -- 100k

Now, given those prices, id say, the cts was a freaking steal. The M3 was always more, and the C55 was never well thought out.

you guys have to realize that this is from 1997. This is an OLD car. Personally, id take the CLK-GTR over anything else because it can fly. Don't believe me? Google it. Its great stuff. Somehow i doubt any super car these days can do that. So sad...

A freight train on a dirt road would have a better chance of keeping on topic than a thread does here in the G forum.
