So, ive got my 240 1990 which when I had bought it appeared to be in flawless condition. However it appears that this is not the case. I recently had taken it to a shop for concerns of my engine light being on. Turns out I had 2 dead cylinders, 1 in which they revived by moving around some injectors. My ecu seems fine but my main wiring harness has been cut up so bad by an amatuer that they couldn't do anything with it. My radiator has a small crack in it and suspension needs a little work which this stuff isn't too bad. I spent 3200 dollars on the car and i dont know what to do. After i picked it up earlier from the shop my exhaust just blows so much smoke that it's not really drivable and now has a hard time starting up. I'm just parking it now. I dont have a lot of money to mess around with and i dont have the best of knowledge with cars. Is this worth even trying to work out, i mean i love my car its just money this and that not like i was expecting it not to be. Just not all at once i suppose. Any suggestions or advice.

3200 is pretty steep so for you to ever get the money back out of it it would have to be in pristine shape. My best suggestion is if you like the car, than you will need to start learning and reading, alot. Take it as a lesson learned on the purchase of the car, and think of it as an oppertunity to learn as you fix everything. Pull a part, and this web sight can be of alot of assistance when it comes to technical info and finding parts. First thing I would do is find out why you have 2 dead cylinders....is it the motor or what runs the motor. Id say first off do a compression test.

Well that sounds like a good idea. I'm just thinking of looking for an Sr20 and wiring harness to accompany that. Any ideas where I could find any? I found a decent guide on how to remove a ka24de on here so when i get some time i can get to that.

yeah do a little searching and you'll be set, frsport sells the conversion harness its pricey, 320(main engine) and i think 120*lowerharness), but it is fresh, new, and already to go, interms of the motor it depends on where you live, but the sr swap is by far the easiest, next to swapping another KA, i've removed the motor 4 times now, and done an sr swap, a lot of patience is needed.

gl to ya,
