So, redid my compression test.

I redid my timing to 15degrees and redid the compression test with what you guys said, my compression with engine hot and throttle at WOT was 150psi, put oil down it and then got 180psi. time for a rebuild. Rings are fried.

For the CA owners in FL, you know any good places for headwork?

And i know the answer is yes, but just want to confirm, all the gaskets and rod bearings between a CA18DET an CA18DE are the same.

And if anyone has any recomendations for things to be done that i might not have thought about yet post up.

I'm replacing all the top end gaskets, checking the main rod bearings replacing if needed, replacing all the pistion rings, cleaning the pistons and balancing them, same for the rods, plan to do headwork port polish. anyone recomend anything. Not to expencive.

I got lucky on one part I had a metal headgasket laying around just incase.

i thought 150 is in spec low but still in there. 120 is when they recomend servicing.

He's right. Standard is 171psi according to the FSM, and the minimum is 142. You can have up to a 14psi variance between cylinders. The compression is starting to get low, but you could probably hold out for a little while if you wanted.

my variance between all 4 cyclinders is 4psi from the highest to the lowest. How much power loss on my compression would there be ruffly from perfect compression?

I have a T28RS waiting to be installed, and i'm boostin 10psi on my T25 and the T28 is set to boost at 12psi and i have a boost controler too, was planing to boost at 14.5psi

One other question will CA18DE rings fit DET pistons?

Yes DE ring's will fit the DET piston. I just replace mine with the one from the DE, everything is perfect.

how much oil did you add, too much and you'll reduce the volume in the cylinder thus raising the compression. I'd also do the compression test form cold aswell

compression test cold with closed throtle was 130psi per cyclinderand I added about lil over a table spoon worth.

alright, just ordered chromoly piston rings from work, i have copper ones here but they seem flimsy, i got a metal head gasket, and a regular comming with the Head gasket kit i ordered off the pulsar CA. I priced out rod bearings and main bearings pretty cheap for me but i dunno the size yet.

If anyone needs rings or bearings just pm me I get them cheap since I work at the parts store.

I wouldn't be TOO unhappy with that reading and that's WAY too much oil
