I live in NE Philly and one of the local Dodge dealerships has a brand new bright red Fiat 500 in the lot. After watching Top Gear all these years I'm very tempted to go in just to do a test drive. Would be even more tempted if they had the Fiat Punto... unfortunately you can only get the Fiat 500 or 500C here in the states. Lame.

Abarth is not an option this year, in fact the US version doesn't even have an option for the 1.2L diesel. Quite sad if you ask me.

Abarth edition is coming over in spring 2012 according to the Fiat rep. Talked to a couple of sales reps after my co-worker told them I autocross. Allegedly they want to gain some publicity and get a Fiat out on some local racetracks (like NJMP) but they didn't know anything about autocross so I swung by their booth to chat with the rep. I doubt anything will come of it; but I'd totally rock a 500 with r-comps if they'd let me.

I've seen a few, they don't look out of place here. Certainly more normal looking than a Smart.

Not really any smaller than a Mazda 2.


I really like them, but I'm also a sucker for Italian cars. Hopefully Alfa Romeo follows them over as promised.

Maybe I'll go test drive a 500 this week, just for kicks.

Here in near Dallas, Texas we have a dedicated Fiat dealership coming into place. They just have 500's and some various other used cars on their lot though.
