So yesterday night my headlight blew out, giving my car this weird, one-eyed look. My mom grabbed me a 2 new ones while I was at school today, but I went skiing and didnt get back until like an hour ago. So, what the hell, its 11pm, but I decided to go throw them on and see how they looked. I unscrewed the plastic casing, but the metal bracket that surrounds the headlight had really rusty screws on it (they are probably the OG headlights =/ ) I took the top two off without much of a problem, but the bottom two were rusted on. Carefully, I bent the metal bracket to a 45 degree angle so I could get the headlight out. The power to the headlights was still on, so I decided it would be best to turn it off and not electrocute myself. Accidentally turned the knob all the way off. Stupid mistake... The lights went down, and so did the metal bracket. I turned the headlight knob again to raise them, but that was my second stupid mistake... The metal headlight bracket caught on the inside of the bumper, which stopped the light from going all the way up. Apparently, the motors arent smart enough to know when theres an object in the way, so they kept going up and down, jamming the bracket into the inside of my bumper. I finally got the bracket free after about 2 minutes of the pop-ups eating my hand, and found the left side bent into thirds.

Not a great way to start my weekend.

Pics might follow tomorrow, I'm definitely gonna need a new one...

i suggest getting new stainless screw go to ace hardware and pick them out, and find the price for regular screw and write those on they never check its 2.50 compare to 50cents

take the whole bracket out from the adjuster screw and the springs try to take the bottom screw off if it strips just grab the back of it with a vicegrip and take the off that way

Next time take the headlights apart the right way and no problem. Lesson learned, take your time for better results.
