i got in to an accident last monday and wrecked my coupe. (heres the story) i was driving to work and i was in the 2nd lane about to make a lane change to the slow lane when i hydroplaned (sp?) and my steering wheel turned left and i spun out, went across all the lanes to the left, hit the concrete center divider and when my car finally stopped i was facing traffic on the left shoulder. I hit my head on ( i think) the window and my neck got a little cut from the seat belt, also, for some odd reason (imo) my airbags didnt deploy, so im looking into why they did not deploy. So now im looking into a 2012 coupe. what are the differences in the 2008 2.5 coupe and the 2012 2.5, beside the obvious front end appearance??

Here are some pics:

Damn sorry to hear that, but that goes with saying at least you lived to tell us about it.

I have a 2010. The changes that were made are 17'' wheels on all 2010+ models, the plastic pieces are darker slate (i.e door trims, steering wheel control piece). But my favorite part, if you get cloth, is that the cloth is more like felt fabric and it feels really nice. And the gauge cluster has a white ring instead of that amber orange ring. Other than that, the engine is the same.

Oh and the diffuser isn't flat black. They colored matched it, i dunno why.

Glad to hear you're okay man. You also have the option to get halo HID's from 2010 onward I believe rather than just HID bulbs.

^No Altima, or Nissan for that matter comes with halos. They JUST started getting into the LED DRL craze with the GT-R.

And truth, at least you walked away. When I had my accident only the side airbag deployed. I was hit front end passenger corner and rear end passenger corner (not head on), but I also thought the impact would have deployed at least the passenger airbag.

EDIT: Duh, my passenger airbag didnt deploy because there was no one in the passenger seat. Wow, took me 4 years to figure that out.

wow, thanks everyone for your replies. @DAAN. im not sure what the insurance hike is going to be. I was on nissanusa.com and for some reason when i was building the 2012 2.5, the only package i could apply was the convenience package. i just want steering wheel controls and bluetooth basically. speaking of bluetooth,in my old coupe i had bluetooth andit worked fine, until i installed my speaker system, then when id answer a call via bluetooth i'd get loud feedback from the subs. has anyone else had a similar issue??

You answered your own question. You were just getting feedback from the subs. Turning your gain down might help but then no boom when you are playing music. You would have to somehow attenuate the subs when Bluetooth was activated.

@djbeasy. When I say halos I may be saying the wrong thing. They come with projectors which have the little circle light around the low and high beams. I looked it up on Nissan's website and its an option with the leather package. But again, maybe I called it the wrong thing.

You are using the OEM bluetooth with aftermarket amp and subs, correct?

Its tough to say then. If it integrated into your OEM speakers at the head unit and sent audio signal to your subs, then yes I would think it would cause a problem.

Dude just get the new Subaru or scion coupe that's comming out. They're about the same price as the 2.5. For the price of the 2.5 you can get better cars. You should check out other brands before you commit to the Altima.
