for Xbox and the Multi-player blows big time . But I liked the single player missions. I dont know, for some reason I just love grabbing terrorists, making them talk, and still shoot them in the head when I don't have to. I guess my feelings for peace on Earth and giving everyone the benefit of a doubt went out the window after 9/11 [the terrorlst leader, the main bad guy, resembles Osama imho]. Definitely gonna buy chaos theory, the trailer looks awesome. Anyways, the reason I made this thread was to know if anyone has read Splinter Cell the book. Any good? I'm picking up a few new books to read whilst im studying abroad, so I thought I'd check that out.

On another note, does anyone think Sam Fisher can be deemed as a terrorlst? I don't, but the line is pretty hazy so I'm sure plenty of people would.

Yeah, I borrowed the second one and beat it. The regular game did a good job to get better than the first. And the next looks awesome. I was hoping they would have gave Sam a knife in the second, but at least they did it for the next one.

Anyway, didnt know they had a book. I read the first three in the Halo series. Fall of Reach, was excellent, as well was the third. They probally have a fourth out by now. But I will deffinetly pick up the Splinter Cell novel. Havent read a good book in like four months.

There is no Splinter Cell book, at least not to my knowledge. I'm not exactly sure why Clancy's name is on the game, aside from the fact that it's a political thriller from Ubisoft.

Hmmm. I guess I need to buy that one. I wonder if it came before or after the game...

They made the book after the game. This is my Favorite review......

"If you've ever sat around and watched the news and saw some terrorlst attack and wished your government would just go kill them then this is YOUR BOOK. If you happen to pickup the paperback open to the inside cover and look at the picture: it says it all. The book is about Sam Fisher, an American intelligence officer with one mission: protect the United States at all cost; the image of a rogue warrior moving through the night and taking out evil where it sleeps.

Leave it to Tom Clancy to show the world exactly what countries SHOULD be doing. Splinter Cell combines realism, action, some pretty cool stuff like martial arts and technology, but more importantly it has that James Bond techno-geek appeal. The main character will remind you of Gabriel Allon from Daniel Silva' books, or just imagine Jason Bourne for real. My only complaint is that the writing sometimes switched between first person and third person when it moved between people. I'd preferred it stayed the same throughout, perhaps better third person.

Overall this is a great book. If you've ever gotten pissed off about terrorism and wish somebody would do something about it: READ THIS BOOK! I hope somebody in Washington reads this book SOON! "

Okay, now question: Did Tom actually write this one??? Or is it his other writers, that do his books like Ops Center???

At the end of the trailer it said Holiday 2004. Uhhh didn't that just past? Has the release date been postponed? I loved the first and second games on PC.

I cant wait untill it comes out.

Anyway, S13Guy, I bought, and just finished reading the book. Fairly decent. It could have been better, but I needed something to read anyway.

I played Splinter Cell for awhile but gave up on it. I kept comparing it to Thief and it lost. Guess I just dont like the genre
