I just found out the car that was destined for me was destroyed during a wreck of the transport carrier from MX to WA.

New date is August 24th.

You're just having all kinds of bad luck getting this thing.

If something else goes wrong, it's a sign. Maybe you need another color or package or something.

Well, you were looking for a 1.8SL CVT, right?

I can find them locally in Blue Onyx, Sapphire Blue, and Magnetic Gray.I also found a black 1.8SL, but it was a 6-speed.

alot of dealers tell you that your car has been "destroyed in a crash" as an excuse for delays or other internal nissan problems. Its more convenient for your dealer to tell you than an unpreventable freak accident caused your delay then to tell you there are problems with production or ordering.

I thought that these came up from Mexico? Why would they be on a boat?

I found a dealer in SoCal which has the exact model I want. Now I have to decide if I want to fly down there and drive it back up. This "suddenly unavailable" or "wrecked in a crash" throws up a ton "red lights"...

I've started looking for clearance Mazda3 HB's now...

Looks like they don't make a real "base" mazda3, and that the cheapest of the hatchbacks is more expensive than a loaded Versa...

Plus, the versa gives you better interior room in a physically smaller package, with better fuel economy.

I've never sat in the seats of the mazda3, but for me that would be a huge consideration given how much I drive.

After owning the Versa for 10 days, I'd say pay for the ticket down and the gas back up...

just my .02...

I love 3s, especially the hatch. Best compact out there...better than Corolla, Civic, and I'd say even the Sentra. As great a car as the Versa is, if I could find a 3 near the price of a Versa, I'd take the 3 in a heartbeat.

The MSRP on the Versa I want is $16,905. I was just quoted a Mazda3 S Touring 5 Door (M3HSP) 5 SPD w/OD, base with no options other than what's included in the S Touring for $17,322. I checked the invoice for it and it's $17,049.

Oof. Now I'm conflicted.

he/she said transport carrier, not air craft carrier. so its not a boat. but it comes from train until it reaches u.s border.

Wewt! Looks like you got the car you wanted. How far did you have to go for it? (And now we need to hang out... have a couple Versas in one place...)

My crappy camera's battery just died. I'll take better pictures in a few hours after it recharges but here's the "rear" of the Versa:
