Well, farewell for now. I used 3M vinyl and wrapped all of the woodgrain surfaces. Overall, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out! I didn't hate the wood, but black looks much sharper  And the great thing is I can always peel it off if I change my mind.

Looks pretty good!

Wish I could use that stuff to cover the 300 hail dents in my hood!

WoW, that looks great! Did you have to remove the pieces to cover? Any links to the product?

Thanks guys

I did remove as many parts as I could since it made the process much easier and made for better results. The only parts I couldn't remove were the steering wheel trim pieces and small double-cup holder lid. I watched plenty of videos of people vinyl wrapping interior pieces online and they don't remove any of them, but I'm nowhere near that good.

I used vinyl from 3M called "1080 brushed black metallic" that I got on eBay. They have all sorts of wood, metallic, and colored vinyls. I really wanted a black wood like Porsche and Mercedes uses, but I couldn't find anyone that made anything like that.

Sorry for the delay. I had a reply typed up and never hit submit...

I bought a 2'x5' sheet and used about 2'x3', maybe a bit more.

Too friggin' cool. Did you stick it on, then cut off the excess? Or create a paper template and then use that to cut from?

I cut a piece that was roughly the size and shape, stuck, massaged, and cut. Sort of like putting the crust on top of a pie :)
