I learned a lot on this site. I hope I also helped J owners with their great cars. But the time has come to go. I'll lurk from time to time but when a complete a$$hole can dictate terms on this site the party is over. Too bad. When the inmates start running the asylum...

Mike,If this has anything to do with the actions taken in the petro thread, please email me ([email protected]) and I can discuss this with you.

But you are a valuable asset to this community and probably one of our more knowledgeable J30 owners!!!

I would hate to see you go over something stupid like this!!!

I don't know why you'd leave a forum for any other reason than not having enough time to be a contributor. When you let yourself become so overwhelmed by an internet message board, maybe it is time to unplug for a while. We'll be here when you're ready to return. :)

They come and they go. ninja, the chimp, vim....

No need to implore members to stick around. Its just like when you graduate highschool and you think the school won't be the same without you or when you leave a job and think without you the foundation will crumble. The world keeps turning and so will NICO!!

There are plenty of other forums on which to bash the good ol' USA. Don't let your keyboard hit you in the glutes on your way out. :D

I hate to see threads closed unless it's an all out flame war. I'm not sure how much editing took place by Elwesso, but it sure looked more like a good discussion and debate on energy issues. Something that will have a direct impact on all of us high performance loving members! Although this isn't a political forum, politics is unavoidable - and if kept in one thread, I don't see the problem.

An energy discussion without political discussion cannot exist. The two issues are sadly intertwined. Its why I agreed with the thread closing in the first place.

On a sadder note, my thread about my Q sputtering is now gone thanks to hackers. But I think I got some good useful tips from you folks on resolving it. So thank you!

Whew. Glad that's over.

Now we can all go back to our blissful ignorance, without some tantrum-throwing Canuck reminding us how retarded we are.

It's one of the wonders of the modern world - All that knowledge, and yet STILL no seven-figure paychecks... I'd be cranky too if I knew everythng and no one recognized my brilliance.... :rolleyes

VimyJ; can't believe I just read all that.

Many good points threwn in with more than a few immature statements. I couldn't agree with you more politics wise... I back you 100%... but when it comes to bashing other people because they disagree with you... well that's something I can't respect. Some things are better left unsaid whether you feel they're true, or you're saying them out of spite.

I'll be sad to see such an opinionate and politically educated person leave these forums, though I wish you wouldn't have lashed out as you did...

All the best,

Corey

Mike:

Ryan is on a vacation right ow for breaking rules. The Petra thread will come back to life.

Your above thread also breaks forum rules.Dont fall into that trap.

In the meantime stick around.

Fred..:)

Well Mike, like I said, I have no problem with seeing a Bush or Kerry sticker or logo here and there. :) It gives a show of support without engaging everyone in a lengthy obnoxious discussion. I was a left-wing liberal Democrat just a few years ago, so I can at least respect where youre coming from and understand your principles. Despite these disagreements, I do value your other contributions to this community.

It is otherwise considered bad form to bring full-scale political discussion into an apolitical realm -- manners. This is why I have my other forum for political debate. There's a time and place for everything, and yes we do discuss energy policy there.

As election day nears, we're all slowly losing our minds.

-Jesda

PS: Of course I'm politically translucent. No, make that transparent. I don't hide my ideological biases.

I wrote this before I realized that we lost a day's posts in the latest hack. It that thread was anything like Vimy's last rant, maybe it was a good idea to close the thread for a while...

Members need to remember that name calling does not advance a discussion. Politics are personal, and for zealots like the Taliban, no discussion is possible when one knows he is right and everyone else is wrong. That's why personal political discussions are inappropriate on a non-political board. Let's keep it to the cars, and drop the political ego before we sign on.

I'd like to go to Petra, Fred! Is there a meet?

First some were in denial. Then came the anger which led to the lockdown. Next is bargaining followed by acceptance.

If anyone feels the need to vent on a political issue, I suggest http://www.ircpolitics.org

I go by "CanOfSpam" when I'm there.

Let me warn you, it can be time consuming and addicting, but there's much to learn.
