well I SOld the car, i am finish with the CA18 engine and nissans for now, i bought myself a 2003 Lotus tunned Proton Satria GTi-T (4g93T 1.8 Turbo) a sweet little hatch back that drives like its on rails, works perfect, no rattles ro squeaks, and its simple to swap in that 4G63T EVO 7 motor my buddy has lying around - its basically a Mitsubishi Mivec Colt Hatchback, but rebadged as a Proton, has lotus tunned syspension, recaro interior etc..

it was fun while it lasted, i got $9000 for my car and engine all spares etc.. so unfortunately no goodies to offer here, but thought i would atleast say bye

later everyone and to all the guys that helped me along the way, bless you and gods speed

Sad to see a CA member go, but the new ride looks good. Good luck with your new platform.

Uhh mate... if thats the exact car you bought, a evo 7 motor will not bolt in.. evo 1-2-3 will... the evo 7 motor was twisted by mitsubishi to run a different way, it started at evo 4s.. *edit* the gearboxes won't line up, and also, the turbo would be sitting against the firewall and the intake side would be sitting against the radioator, and theres not enough room to do it that way.. *

How do i know this ??

My girlfriend drives one too... and i love driving it, 4G93 ( turbo wasn't a factory option, obviously someones done a GSR Lancer swap.. They are based on the CC Lancer/Mirage range, but it isn't hard to find stuff for them.. great little cars, and i love her factory Recaros.. Been looking around to find an evo clip for it, but its pretty hard and expensive to find.

I worked on a stock Evo 2 yesterday and the turbo was mounted forward, same as all the other Evo´s, 4G63 engine.

yeah same as all evos, but from the 4 and up they swapped the side the gearbos sits.. so one way was left to right, then right to left ( or other way around).. which sucks.

Theres a drag Evo 2 in New Zealand, down to 8.4s last i heard, runs an evo 7 head on an evo 3 block, the turbo actually sits in the passenger side floor.. plates R1P U UP.. i'm not actually sure why they did it, but if you search any place, it'll tell you the same..

*edit*

Evo 3 4G63 with a gt35 and **** hanging off it..

Evo 8 4g63..

Is it the black beauty? If you can choose it, place the intake forward, you don´t want the manifold/turbo heat heating up the intake.

thanks for all the input, i have been looking around and saw that your right the swap sint directl but it has been done locally, even with the EVO6 front bumper and lights etc..

thats a local circuit car, 4g63T ~400whp.. AWD :|

and the one i was looking at is a rebuilt 4G93T JDM 1.8 GSR swap with JE's and other little bolt ons etc..

but i went a test drove an JDM IS200 Altezza with teh BEAMS Yamaha 3SGE and OMG - between the interior and body kit, wheels, music system etc, i may be re-considering this purchase.
