So it wasn't the MAF Sensor, I need a new Coil Pack.....Expensive, What to do?

I am so tempted to sell this car. They thought it was the MAF, but it turns out its the coil pack and he said I am looking at at least $1000 to do that.....any ideas?

a grand for a coil pack ???He's smokin' crack.

Each spark plug has its own coil pack.Is that what he is talking about ??Many J's getting parted out here .. can get one cheap !!

What is the symptom ??

Thats what I said, but I mean the symptoms are listed in my other post. Basically hesitation when going up hills and after the car gets fully warmed up, and it shakes really bad when I push the acclerator in.

So you've got a bad misfire. Check the spark plugs FIRST. Don't let a shop replace your coil packs for a grand. Do it yourself. Takes about 5 minutes to do it yourself + cost of parts.

To hell with that mechanic. I agree that he's SMOKIN CRACK.

Before I got the J from my Mom, she had a coil replaced at a dealer and they only charged her $400 including the part.

so someone here parting out should be able to set you up for $50-100 with s/h easily if they are just looking to help another NICO person out.

coil packs are an easy DIY or any comptent mechanic should be able to do it. Its not like a fuel injector where you gotta remove a lot of stuff.

Look for them on ebay.. you can find one on there real cheap
