Can't wait for the weekend! I know there is an 80's Loverboy song in there somewhere... Gonna be busy this weekend!

UPS showed up with some new (well, slightly used) items for the the White Rocket:

- K&N Typhoon Intake
- Racinline y-pipe
- Borla axle-back exhaust

Have about 1500 miles so it is time! :taz:

Many thanks to a former A/C owner here (Wyatt/pa) who was forced to part with his A/C and was a very straight-up guy to deal with. Also many thanks to the NICO network- without the good folks here I would have never happened upon the items Wyatt/PA had and have received nothing but positive info from the folks here. I may sound like a "snob" but I am so used to the V8 crowd crapping on the imports- none of that silliness here and it is a refreshing change.

Loving this car and these folks so far! Holy hell... Have I become a middle-aged RICER??!! :couch
I say that with much-love and tongue well in cheek...

It starts..... :BnB:

Let me know if your Borla goes on straight, my left tip was hanging low, so to speak.

Have fun Allen. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you. Things have been crazy! It sounds like you made a good decision anyway!

Enjoy and take some photos!

Took a wire-brush to the exhaust flanges in preparations for installation, polished up the Borla tips and have the K&N filter soaking...

If all goes well, I may have the chance to start the installation tomorrow!

Had the chance to crawl around under the car today!

Old OEM muffler off and the Borla installed without major issues. I did note that the left tip does stick out a tad more than the right as others have reported- odd  ... I will take a look at perhaps tweaking after things settle in a little.

New Y-Pipe installed- good Lord the bolts on the rear collector were on tight! Only real oddity was the hanger; It seems like the hanger itself is way too thin to "fill" the rubber mount but it is secure. All of the unions sealed with some copper RTV. Easy-peasy...

Then I started on the K&N intake. Removed the negative lead on the battery and started laying out all of the parts. Empty box and the sudden realization that something was amiss... Where the hell is the intake tube?!

Everything back into the box and over to the table for a full inventory. A missing washer or two, nothing to be concerned about and easily replaced... no intake tube. Furious search of all of the packing materials and a thrashing of the other boxes- nada. :wtf2:

Called Alan (who I purchased the items from) and same report- nada. :bang

So he is going to take another look, but at a stand-still for now. Talking to K&N, I can purchase the replacement intake tube.... ~$100 but thankfully they offer a Military discount for get it down to about $60.

So pissed right now, not at Alan but more because I had a day to get this done and came up short...

More to follow....
