So is it true that 240sx(s13/s14) tension rods fit and work on a q45? I'm talking about stock s13 tension rods....if that's the case i have a stock pair with energy suspensions bushings in them laying around that should/would help out the old worn out bushings from the Q

Not sure how close the lengths are but I bet it's dang close. My gut tells me the Qs are longer. I'd check how long they are because if they are way different U will need to get an alignment after.

Say what? The effective length of the tension rod SETS the caster angle .....only way to get the proper caster alignment is to use the proper length tension rod, whether being the correct length rod like the original{and MAYBE the oem from the 240sx?}, or an aftermarket adjustable length rod. IF the OEM part from the 240sx is shorter or longer,it changes the caster angle, and there is no "adjustment"that an alignment will correct for.

Best to just order a new bushing for the OEM Q tension rod and have it pressed in {should be less than $10 for the Energy bushing, and inexpensive to have pressed in also} Even IF the 240 tension rod is the exact same length as the rod in the Q, who knows if it was designed as strong as the Q original rod, being that the 2 cars are vastly different in weight, and therefor stress loads put on the tension rods?

Even if the rods are different lengths, you could always press the bushings out of your SX rods and into the Q rods...

I wouldn't do that with stock bushings, I imagine that the Q's weight would rate a stiffer bushing, but with the energy bushings it is probably good )and I ma brashly assuming the bushings are the same diameter)

I changed out my Q tension rods for adjustable rods that would also fit a 90-96 200ZX and I think also your 240sx, but that is an adjustable rod - so the length was matched before installation and then aligned.
