Im kinda outta the whole 240/drift scene and ive had my mind set on a clean Z!

Now ive seen that the z's have 2 diffrent motor's

2003-06 Vq35

and the 07-08 vq35hr?

would some care to explain the engine/body diffrence's

i can find an 06 for like 16k and i found 07 for like 21k

with the same amount of Miles

just wondering if the 07 would be a better buy

07 has variable intake timing, earlier cars only had vvt on exhaust, the 07-08 also has a higher redline, and if you drive them both, the earlier cars feel notibly torquier and faster but 07-08 wiht less torque and more hp is in fact the faster car

also trim leves will effect car pricing, a -7-08 gt model will bring a lot more than a base model 06

^ What he said. Also note that by going with an '07 you can avoid an oil consuming Rev UP VQ that you could possibly get in an '06.

What trim are models and mileage on the cars you are looking at choosing between?

If its an '06 its not a 35th Annie, they came out in '05 (its what I've got).

The '03 is certain to have more miles on it and more potentially wrong with it. You're going to have a newer car with a better engine in the '07.

And you're not going to put a strain on your friendship if something on the car goes south that your friend didn't know about or didn't tell you about.

An Enthusiast is the lowest end Z that I would consider as you still get the VLSD, TCS, Xenon headlamps, Homelink and a host of other things I'm not thinking of yet (I've not had my coffee this morning). A base model is great if its just going to be an all-out track car but I think as a street car the lesser price makes you sacrifice too many other good features to really be considered. But that's just me.

Hey! I got a base lol. The reason I wanted a base was because I was going to put in my own limited slip, and I don't care about cruise control......don't need VDC (and with all the problems I hear about them I am glad I don't have it).

If you are looking for a car that you can do lots too without running into problems due to VDC and such go for a base. If you are looking for a road car, get whatever.
