To my car not starting. At all. I figured this can't be cause I just got the battery replaced. Before you say it's the alternator, I seriously don't think it is cause the car wouldn't even make a sound when I'd try to start it. My guess is the ignition. Do you guys have any other ideas?

Try and keep turing the key repeatedly and see if it will start after 6 or 7 turns. If it starts up it could be the starter relay going bad. If it doesn't start I guess it could still be the starter relay. Do you have power to the lights and radio and stuff?

Connection from the battery? Everything tight? Possible bum battery.

I have a similar issue. All the lights turn on but when I try to start it it doesn't turn over. And I just replaced the battery not to long ago

If that's the case I'd say battery then. Or a connection to the battery. You should at least have some lights. Was a dome/map light left on for days?

Not for me. I make sure EVERYTHING is off when I exit my car. And I checked the connections and it is tight. I just don't get how my brand new battery, not even a month old and fully tested, is dead in such a short time. I'm leaning back to the alternator cause I know once I have a bad alternator then my battery will be supplying the power.

Dan- I'll check those when I get home from work.

I had an issue like this with a 240 I used to have. It was my ignition fuse though.

My old Z the only battery problems I had was my ground. My current Z I've had no issues except for bad terminals >.<

Starter relay
Old battery cable
Insufficient amps (battery)

My $ is on the cable, tho. Every car I've ever owned has had a ton of resistance in the positive cable. Corrosion that you can't see is the #1 cause of weak start conditions. Guys, replace your cables, dammit! :)

A new cable is a good cable.

Monster Audio 0 or 2 gauge is a DAMN GOOD cable, that's what I replaced all of the main power and ground cables with in my Subaru when it started acting up. They are pretty readily available too (don't have to be monster I just prefer them to scosche or other brands)

So my dad and brother checked it out while I was at work and they gave it a boost. Ran for a while and my brother drove it for 30 minutes and ran fine. But it didn't hold the charge long enough so it's deffiniately my battery and alternator now

Its very unlikely that the battery and alternator are bad... The battery could have dead cell, which means it wont stay charged or hold a charge. I suggest that you get another battery before alternator.

I had the battery tested when I bought it a month and a half ago. I can get a free battery so im not worried. I'll just do the alternator as well
