Long story short, went out to the local bar/club and let my buddy drive while I rode shotty. Car was running fine all night. After leaving Denny's I tell him to stop and let me throw some gas in...

On the way home she started making an ever so slight tick under light low rpm accel as if it had bad gas or something... hmmm... Pull into my driveway and I smell oil and see a little smoke thru the HID's. Ok mabye a little blow by... no big deal

I told him to drive it home and come back in the morning, and while he was backing out of the driveway it made that bad gas low octane sound lol... He continues to drive away... Nonetheless, I get a call 5 min later from him saying she died at an intersection and wont fire back up. I jump in the roommates turbo rsx and bring jumpers. I connect them and she fires up. Ok low battery? hmm... Then i see a little smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe, This NEVER happens... He says "Oh your turbo is blown". I tell him to F off its perfect.

So I jump in it and attempt to drive her home, and within 120sec. of driving it sounds like my valves are having a field day in the clacking like a b****... I'm thinking wtf. So much oil smoke and stank a** oil smell and the throttle doesnt do ish anymore slowley dying... so i throw in the clutch and its a wrap, she dies... I pull over and try to start her and it sounds like there isnt even a timing belt on there... So triple A took me home.

Kill me now!

Bro seriously it sounded like if you put 87 in your b16 or something... I will be busting out the digi once i pull her apart. Hoping I didnt bend all the valves.... If so I found a longblock for 500 that needs a little machining thanks to raw brokerege and coolwhip... He just doesnt know yet lol

Yep aem, ringlands just gave, no hint of detonation or melting anywhere. 4 yrs of 19psi on a 62-1 and she couldn't take it anymore.

Actually went the cheap route with Supertech forged pistons/GTR rods, I won't be going higher than 600whp/8krpm so I think they'll be okay.

Hmm.... how much cheaper could they have been? I guess supertech makes everything now lol. You rebalancing the motor for the gtr rods or just wingin it?

Sounds like oil pump failure for the thing to start smoking a little, then start ticking and continue to tick louder. Sounds like lack of oil pressure in the head. If you didn't do any damage internally, you might just get away with an oil pump replacement.

Good luck!

Those where my first thoughts, however smoke out the exhaust I see no reason for a failed oil pump to cause this?

What color was this smoke?

They were about $550 with rings, so about $200-$300 cheaper than the main brands. I was going to use stock rods and leave the crank collar alone and not balance but since I got both I took the stuff to the machine shop yesterday to be rebalanced.

This was my first thought, but after trying to restart it and hearing that the timing belt seemed to not even be on made me think that more than one thing happened.

My other thought was mabye the timing belt stretched and jumped a tooth or two, then snapped while driving bending everything.

It was night time, but the smoke was definatly oil.
