Yep aem, ringlands just gave, no hint of detonation or melting anywhere. 4 yrs of 19psi on a 62-1 and she couldn't take it anymore.blurrbosi wrote:
Bro seriously it sounded like if you put 87 in your b16 or something... I will be busting out the digi once i pull her apart. Hoping I didnt bend all the valves.... If so I found a longblock for 500 that needs a little machining thanks to raw brokerege and coolwhip... He just doesnt know yet lol

Hmm.... how much cheaper could they have been? I guess supertech makes everything now lol. You rebalancing the motor for the gtr rods or just wingin it?eh? wrote:Actually went the cheap route with Supertech forged pistons/GTR rods, I won't be going higher than 600whp/8krpm so I think they'll be okay.
Those where my first thoughts, however smoke out the exhaust I see no reason for a failed oil pump to cause this?Darius wrote:Sounds like oil pump failure for the thing to start smoking a little, then start ticking and continue to tick louder. Sounds like lack of oil pressure in the head. If you didn't do any damage internally, you might just get away with an oil pump replacement.
Good luck!
They were about $550 with rings, so about $200-$300 cheaper than the main brands. I was going to use stock rods and leave the crank collar alone and not balance but since I got both I took the stuff to the machine shop yesterday to be rebalanced.blurrbosi wrote: Hmm.... how much cheaper could they have been? This was my first thought, but after trying to restart it and hearing that the timing belt seemed to not even be on made me think that more than one thing happened.Darius wrote:Sounds like oil pump failure for the thing to start smoking a little, then start ticking and continue to tick louder.
