Breaking news! As some of you (DCaff) know I've been searching for an old Benz for a while now, well as of Monday I put down a deposit on not 1 but 2 classic Mercs which I will be picking up this Saturday. The first is a 1990 W126 300SEL white on white (which is very rare to find with matching "two-tone") with an immaculate gray leather interior, the second is a 1989 W124 300E. It was a packaged deal and the 300E will likely be getting stripped and scrapped while the 300SEL is going to get a good going over and be driven by my wife (did I mention this is her new project car), while we collect all the parts for a V8 swap (not sure which one yet but leaning toward a 440-6 pack with a 5 or 6 speed manual backing it up).

You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Hehehe, it needs a little work in a lot of places but it runs and drives (auto for now). And it has an OEM 99 spec wing. Interior is in about the same shape as the exterior. Best part is, I traded a 2000 xterra for it that I had picked up to fix and flip. I can feel the jelly, all of the jelly. :D

Wow....cryin' is more like it now. Saw that wing as well, I'd certainly be happy with that transaction.

I have an almost complete 2+0 in aztec red that was manual swapped which will be getting the NA engine out of the DPM 2+2 so the TT engine which is currently in the 2+0 can go into the DPM 2+2. I have an extra trans and multiple clutches and flywheels, just need to order a new set of pedals, a clutch master cylinder, and the clutch line. Once you've done it one time, its pretty easy. Do you have a 5 speed car you're parting? Also I'm still not convinced I like the shape 2+2 over the 2+0 but with a family and with the rarety of the car I'll make due. I absolutely HATE the factory rear bumper on the 2+2 it looks out of place and makes the car look long and unfinished, Plans there are for the Twin Z type 2 rear which should fix all my woes.

Yeah, Im trying to get rid of my Z, It was recently 5-speed swapped and has pretty much all new parts, pretty much anything one could think of needing for a five speed swap. But really I'm just trying to get rid of the car as a whole..don't really have time to part it out, nor do I feel like doing so, car has lots of other new parts besides the five speed swap stuff

I'm a fan of the 2+2 now, when I was younger years ago first getting a Z not so much, but now I think I prefer them because of the wheelbase. Sliding around in the 2+0 is fun and easy but the 2+2 is even better at that, plus I like bigger cars, and if done right the 2+2s look great, regardless man that is so awesome and lucky to find a 2+2 like the one you have, enjoy!

I have a 5-speed swap wasting away (so to speak) in my NA, which I have recently decided I would part out more if it made sense.
I could remove the clutch slave and line and pedal assy for a decent offer, they were new at the time of swap...let me know if you're interested. No hurries on this unless you are.
