and decided to take some pictures. Yay! I'll post them soon, but they weren't digi so it will be a few days. Anyway, I stop in the spot and start to take the first picture, but I wanted my wheels turned more, so I go up and turn the wheel a bit, then it stops... A little freaked, I go ahead and take the pictures, since the car looks better now. After 10 or so, the roll's finished and its time to go home, cool. So I get in and put in the key, floor the clutch, and try to turn the key... nothing happens, key won't turn. So I try to turn the wheel a little since it had locked and try the key probably 20 more times cause I want to drive home, since its about to rain. No luck. I look in the owner's manual and see some NVIS system that seems to say that the keys have to correspond to the remote lock thingos, now I'm pissed, cause I decided to change keys cause I saw that one of them is a dark red, rather than black, which so kicks a55. After more "f-s" than I can count, I get out and find myself VERY glad I put on shoes before I came up, cause I now have to run a mile and a half home, yay! I'm glad I'm in shape... thank God for swim team, cause like I said, its about to rain. SOOOOO... I run home and get my dad and we drive up there. We play with the other keys, going with my suspicion, no luck. So then he turns the wheel like another half turn (I thought it was totally locked!), I turn the key, and vrrooom, the car starts. I resist the urge to cuss cause my dad's right there, he gets in his truck after I give him the spare key ring, I pull out my keys, start it up again, and we drive home, me resisting the urge to do a big nasty burnout cause well... my dad's back there, and well... he pays for tires unless I do "excessive wear." Nice parents, eh?

Anyway, that's my story, and does anyone know what this NVIS shizzle is?

Pics soon! the spot was really nice, so I hope they turn out!edit: Yeah, point and laugh. The car is an 01' Sentra SE 2.0 with the "performance package" (LSD and front upper tie-bar) for reference.

I can't wait to see your pics!

I had my Spec V be a PITA once about not wanting to start on the first try.It started on the 3rd try I think.I had to turn the wheel from the lock position, and made sure the clutch was all the way to the floor.I'm not sure which of the two did the trick.I didn't try anything with the remote.

my altima was very fickle about the key/starting. The stock key broke in a freak accident, so I had to get a duplicate made. The key never fit the ignition right and was a Beotch to start... I just thought I'd share to get my frustrations out

I have a few pics already up on imagestation. The only problem with those currently up is that the car wasn't all that clean and it was just in my driveway, nowhere nice. I'll have the clean-car ones up probably within the week. link to the old ones: http://www.imagestation.com/me...88481you're going to have to sign in, apparently. That is, if you have an account. I'll be posting the fresh ones soon, like I said, so... At least I'm not totally alone in my wheel-turn stupidity.

Nice-Its cool how a good car owner can make a car great by keeping it clean and not putting crap parts on it.

BTW: Imagestation rocks and it's FREE!;)

sweet car brotha

on a side note, I hate it when I try to start an automatic only to realize I didn't put it in park earlier. I'm too used to manuals....

I hear you Mr1der, I have always forgotten to put auto cars back IN park (rather than before starting) whenever stopped, then the car yells and won't let me take the key out... Thanks for the words guys, I think I'm finally going to order the B&M this week, since I have nearly 800$ in the bank (hey, for a highschool punk who barely worked this summer, not too shabby), but it has to last me til next summer, so I have to make good use of it. I'm still working on what I will get intake-wise. After those two I'll just be waiting til next summer, which will bring with it exhaust and suspension (JIC anyone?) as well as a possible ECU upgrade, and depending on the cash situation, headers. YAY!edit: I'm open to any mod suggestions you guys have by the way. I plan on making the perfect sleeper, as in the only appearance mods will be suspension (which is handling anyway, so its a double-deal), wheels (only going up to 17 from 16, and this is a maybe in the first place), and tint. I have turbo dreams of course... Since its an SE no one really notices the car, which for now is fine by me, the only thing I can take out is a Honda.

Yeah, it has a 2.0 badge under the SE badge, and I've looked at the engine, its definitely an SR20DE.

heh yah what happened's just a steering wheel lock. when you turn the wheel and the car's not on it'll lock, and you won't be able to budge your key in the ignition until you turn the wheel a little to the left or right, whichever direction it gives, musta been a litte emabarrassed, not too mention pissed hehe.

Embarrassed and pissed, definitely. Oh well, I might be able to use it to my advantage to protect my car one day... somehow...

I am going to start doing that (locking my steering wheel) everytime I get out of my car I think, since it will be bait when I get her back. Looking all fresh painted and clean :D
