1992 Prelude SiR..

Now!

I know you all hate honda, (i used to), and probrobly dont wanna waste ur time answering this ? but I need help...

When i scanned the vin numbers for my new car, it came up as a 1992 Prelude SiR. Now people are telling me that Preludes dont come in SiR's..

Can someone please clear this up for me? and Maybe direct me to a site which will help me out with this?

thanks

all the ricers will want your car. Si-R is just so much cooler than plain ol' "Si"

I thought Canada got SR, not SiR. Its an h23a1, right?

4th gen debued in 1992. S Vtec, SI, and base models were avaibilble. All h22's are vtec and all h23's are non-vtec . The base model came with the same motor as the accord of the same generation, f22.

in all honesty..

it handles alot better than my s13 did..

and its alot quicker stock...

im hearing from people now, that the SiR has a JDM engine and is 220 hp and 6,800 rpm.. can somebody confirm that for me?

i loved my s13, probrobly rather have it, but they are just 2 expensive down here.

i need more info on the SiR prelude tho.. since it was only released in Canada and Japan, no websites give any info on it!

lemme know!

thanks

no such thing as a si-r in japan. If you have a H22a1, then you have a S vtec. If you have the h23a1 (non-vtec) then you have a SI. SI's are all non-vtec. The base model has a F22.

I think the confusion/answer is in the listing. The Si-R engine is listed as 220ps, I do not know how "ps" converts to "hp" so it may be the same output for both engines

on a side note I had a 93 Si and loved it. That car was very quick and handled like a dream. I am not bashing Nissan, and I love my s13, but if I had the money I would have gone for a 93-96 prelude Vtec. always loved the way that car looked. Of course, once I do the silvia conversion I will love the way my S13 looks just as much

S13 not that expensive up here. you could get a high mileage 1989-90 for like $1700 and high mile 91-93 HICAS for about $3500

4th gen si had 160 hp and the v-tec had 200 for usdm one of my friends just got the 220 hp one and it's now faster than my 240 but not much. He has no limited slip and spins alot. I get him o nthe launch but he pulls me after 60

i could be wrong but i believe that the USDM h22a came with 190hp, and the jdm... could be canadian too came with 200hp. and the non vtec's came with 160hp.

ive seen a 2nd gen rs eclipse take a si non vtec prelude by 2 cars. both had intake/catback exhaust.

ive also witnessed a 95 240 with a air filter as its only mod take the 2ndgen rs eclipse.

Everybody is kinda wrong/kinda right

4th gen 92-96

in 92 and 96 you could getS - F22a1 135hp - SOHC non-vtecSi - H23a1 160hp - DOHC non-vtec

in 93-96 you could getVTEC - H22a1 190hp DOHC VTEC

I think i was the first (and maybe the only) person to turbocharge the F22a1 motor in a 4g prelude. Can I get a cookie?
