I was HIGHLY disappointed.

Car with intake, exhaust, and springs ran a 14.60 at 97mph. i couldnt get better than a 2.30 60ft no matter how i launched it. I guess my mistake was getting the automatic. lol but oh well. i just wanted to see what it was capable of.

But from a 15mph roll these cars are deadly. i raced my buddy in his 400hp GTO on the way home and i held right beside him until 85-90 and then he SLOWLY started pulling. i just wish the cars would launch better.

well in all fairness they are rated between 14.3 and 14.7 on the 1/4 mile....higher stall converter should do the trick

my best 60 ft was 2.31 and i got a 14.4. so maybe it wasn't your launch. did you go with a full tank of gas (added weight)??? did you use premium gas? did you make sure you floored the pedal all the way to the floor (pas the little click thingy)? also another thing it could have been is that i noticed it would get very hot in the engine bay so when my lane wasn't moving i'd just leave my hood open so the engine bay could cool down. a ram air intake sucks in air from the engine bay so a cooler engine bay might help. what was the temp outside when you were at the track?

so the fastest 4th gen altima/1st gen AC is still a sedan...wooot!! +1 for the sedans.

a guy on the nissanclub forums ran a 14.1 @ 101 with his sedan, and i believe i am right behind him for the sedans, not sure tho?

Did you use the kickdown switch? once the car is a thousand rpm's short of the redline, depress the gas pedal all the way past the click, and the cvt shifts temporarily to a lower gear giving you higher rpm's and better acceleration. Im pretty sure it's standard on all altimas, my 2.5 came with it.

the MT cars dont come with that since we really dont need it, we control our own gears.

only the CVT cars come with that.

well keep in mind it's CVT we're talking about..... magazines tested the CVT A/C at 14.6 and i got a 14.4. they tested the 6mt A/C at 14.2 so maybe a 6mt can beat that by .2? (wishful thinking?) come on A/Cs lol the only person to test the 6mt A/C at the track was at a 1/8 mile track.

i dont blame the 6MT guys. there are no clutch kits available yet just in case the stock clutch gives out. mine is almost there, but i have to go confirm that with nissan!

Your not gonna blow out your clutch already. You'll be fine, just run it

Right. Unless I read the first post wrong the car in question is an auto.

yea i know man. i havent hesitated to run my car before, but now i just feel uncomfortable because the clutch pedal is too soft, and i feel as if the car has lost power...its weird.

lets hope nissan can fix my problem. but i will most definately hit the track up a few times this year!
