What have you done to your car, any performance mods?

JWT ECU, 2.5'' exhaust, intake and a 4.11 GT-R Diff

Yeah, that would all help. Pretty much the only straight performance mod I think I might ever want to do would be an ECU. But before I go that route, I need to get my hands on a CONSULT reader I can hook up to one of my laptops.

Yea the JWT ecu gave me a 30HP/ 30 TQ increase, i posted a link on my dyno runs not long ago. NICO ecu will give you about the same if not more power according to people who own them, i recommend the ecu all the way it really gives the car a more bold sporty feel

Those are good numbers for just those mods. As I've said before, the 14-second range is pretty good for a 4000lb luxury car that hasn't sacrificed any luxury.

people were so confused when they saw and heard my car run, at first they thought my car was a front wheel drive V6 haha man i love sleepers On my last two runs i went against a stock Buick Grand National and we were pretty much bumper he ran consistent 14.6-14.7 he was surprised the Q45 cruise ship was keeping up with him

It was much more fun to own a Q in 90-93 before there were 40,000 on the road in US.Especially once I added the Dinan ECU and Stromung custom exhaust in 93.The best mods were the 20mm and 28mm sway bars stolen from a wrecked active in 1994.

Nice to see new people excited in REdiscovering 15 and 20 year old cars.

Unfortunately your mismatched gearing 4.083 with 94 AT means you must shift out of 2nd at <90 mph and 100 mph in 3rd is 5520 [max 132 mph @7300]. Shifting from 2nd to 3rd LOOSES too much time, more than you can make up with any mod.How the 90-93Q with ecu could do 14.7@ 98 [new redline in 2nd] with 3.538 diff.

My on the road experience in passing on 2 lane roads indicates that a 80-90 mph gear shift from 2nd can be heart stopping when facing semis with inches to spare. 0.5 second of zero acceleration allows 65 feet to go by.

If you compare torque x gearing you will find acceleration [G's] at 7200 rpm in 2nd is 12-16% better than 4500rpm in 3rd even though the torque from engine has declined 30%..................as the gearing is 46% higher in 2nd than 3rd.

Those are some pretty good runs, what was the ambient temp?

Are you holding the gears to 7300 RPM??

Hopefully not since you are accelerating at 320-350 rpms per second in second gear before you command a shift. Even starting the shift at 7,100 rpm exactly would be iffy depending on your brain hand delay, tcu to solenoid delay. ballistics of tach and its accuracy.Obviously the problem is worse in 1st gear where engine acceleration per second is 1.8 times faster.

The point is guessing wrong by not leaving a 0.1 or 0.2 seconds safety can really ruin a run if you hit rev limiter......because of recovery time of engine from the power cut.

ambient temp was around 95 degrees farenheight it was a hot day, as it cooled down is when i could manage the 14.9 second runs. Now when i shifted i hit the shifter around 6650-6700 mark so i wouldnt hit the limiter but i will be back next time and im sure il get better runs i was not completely satisfied.
