As you may recall from earlier posts, I want to replace the XM module with Sirius(still looking if you have one for sale), and was going to check out the module today, but could not find it below the hat shelf where I thought it was. So, where did they hide it?

Open the trunk, then pull down the trunk liner on the upper right, and you'll see the XM receiver just under the rear shelf. If you don't see the XM receiver then you don't have XM, but you will see an empty bracked with all the wiring right there.

How would one go about adding one if the car didn't come with it? I know you said all the wiring is there, but where would the antenna go? Would the fin be easy to install, or would I have to put one of those plastic antennas on the trunk?

That is what I thought too. I have an '08 and definitely have XM. I am using it now in the free trial period since I bought from a dealer.

I dropped the trunk liner again today and took some pics...Here is the driver side...shows the Bose amplifier.Image

Here is the passenger side, just has a winding device for the trunk release power supply:

I think the XM module was in the spare tire compartment in the 06 (while the Sirius module was up there as discussed/shown). I don't know if this changed for 08, but I know XM required a donut vs a possible full-size spare for Sirius (again, in the 06).

Did some more research. It appears that the XM module on the 2008 & beyond is no longer a separate module in the trunk...

From Alldata:
Satellite Radio Mode
• Satellite radio tuner is built into AV control unit.
• Audio signal (satellite radio) is received by satellite radio antenna, and it is input to AV control unit. AV control unit outputs audio signal to BOSE amp. The sound signal is also outputted from BOSE amp. to each speaker.
