awhile back I had posted a thread and vid about problems I was having with my engine. Making a VERY annoying sound, but no powerloss. Sounded like a spun bearing. Well I decided(the motor really did) that I should rebuild it. Upon taking the motor apart and inspecting things. I noticed a few things, lots of blow by, slight problems with rings, yada yada yada. And while Iam taking the engine apart eliminating useless things like SCV and all the this and thats I can rid of and the engine still run good. Once I cracked into the bottom end, pulled the rods out searching for a spun bearing or what not, nothing, bearings looked good, slight wear on a few. No big deal.

Well today I pull the crank beam thing and the top of the main bearings look perfect, but the bottom sections of the bearing still connected to the beam, I have some AWFUL looking main bearings. Here is a picture of two of the worst ones, so you can see what Iam talking about.

You can rub your fingers across and feel how the bearing is no longer level, pretty rough stuff. The funny thing is upon inspecting the crank, it seems fine, no scars or weird wear on it, looks great!

it was rebuilt about 20k ago. Just recently the timing chain guide snapped and wore a hole in the front cover causing tons of water to run into the oil and it overheat quick.

ohh that bites. I did a head job on a s10 truck to save the kid some bling. It turned out to be the ecu needed reflashing. The injectors were just hosing gas and it was going into the oil. I had to pull the whole engine and regrinde the crank. It runs like a top now. Bearings never do like forign fluids at all!
