I was just sitting here thinking...

I won't be able to put the motor in until January at the earliest. And since the motor is freshly rebuilt, and I already have the ARP headstuds, and a cometic MLS gasket coming in the near future, my only weakpoint now is the stock pistons. So I guess I am going to just splurge for a set of the CP pistons from Race Engineering. $537 including rings, but I think it's worth the investment based on the insurance factor alone. Then I can beat the hell out of the motor and not have to worry....

good choice, do it now and not have to worry about doing it later down the road.

That is actually a good price for forged CP pistons, they must off went down in price.

And definitely a smart and right move to go forged if you are planning to boost big.

Good luck,PULSAR GTRRafi

My plans all changed when cometic released their MLS headgasket. Originally I was going to run a 2871R @ around 15psi. But now that they have the gasket available and I am getting those pistons, I can max out the efficiency of the turbo to around 22psi and see how close I can get to the 350whp mark.

CP stocks stock (8.5:1) compression and stock and oversized (.5mm) pistions. Anything other than that is a custom piston.
