Ahh, the joy.

So my Calc class was canxed yesterday and me and a guy I my class were looking for something to do to pass the time. He has seen my setup and wanted to go for a ride. I cranked up the car and was going to let it get nice and warm before we left, but I was this douchebag in a Mustang GT gettin' it through the parking lot. I couldn't pass up the opportunity so I caught up to him as he left. We are out of the school parking lot, approaching the first light and it changes just in time to put us right next to each other at a red light. I double checked to make sure it was really a V8 (rear bumper, dual exhaust, no stupid pony badges on side). The back window was cluttered with stickers, including one from Phantasm Motorsports. A little side note here, Phantasm is gay. All the ricer Civics go to Phantasm to get their fart cans installed and their light up windshield washers tuned so that they can get a few extra gerbils under the hood. My buddy is like, "kick this dudes ***!". I'm still a little worried B/c my temp gauge hasen't come all the way up yet and I really like to give it a while to warm up b4 any boost is applied. But, I couldn't have the ricer in the Mustang spank me. I could hear him start to rev as the other light turned yellow. We both floored it just as the light turned green. I jumped him a little in first. As I was going into second he caught up to me a little. I was pulling on him a little in second. By the end of third I was ahead by more than a car length. I put it in 4th and let him catch up. He kinda waved and smiled; Me and my friend were laughing hysterically. It was great. I could have easily increased my lead in 4th, but I try to exercise a little restraint. 9 psi on a stock SOHC motor with 160k miles spanks a late model Mustang V8. I love my car.

god, there are all the guys I know that are soooo into their little v8 stangs. sure they are kinda quick, especially with a little modifying, but nothing in this world will give me as much enjoyment as beating the piss out of them when I finally have boost. they think they are freakin gods with their hpipes and drag radials, Im bout to cream my pants thinkin bout it right now. nice kill by the way, I bet it made you feel like the man for that whole week huh?

This is what I have. CT-26 turbo from MKIII Supra, log style manfold, Starion I/C, some cheap plastic recirc BOV, Walbro pump, 460cc injectors, SAFC II, EGT and Boost gauge. The I/C piping is 2" exhaust tube from local shop that I cut up and spliced back together with rubber couplings from Home Depot. My exhaust sucks. My downpipe leaks and is prolly really ineficient (crush bends and shoddy welding), but hey it only cost me 30 bucks. I'm getting my entire exhaust redone soon.

I haven't made it to the strip yet but I will try to get it down to Fayetnam for test n' tune day soon. I did get it dynoed a couple of months ago with only 5 psi. Can't find the sheet right now but it was only like 160 hp/180 ft.lbs.

LOL beat a GT with a CT26! HAHAHAA Lame GT...

At 5psi you are only making 15hp over stock??? That sounds...odd. The torque seems sorta right...still a lil low...

He's making about 40 more than stock. Remember the SOHC only has about 120whp rockin' stock.

If I can divulge here, I can recall a night when I spanked a mid 400hp supercharged mustang at the night drags. The reason I know how much HP it was making is because it was at the dyno the same day that I was. If I get the damn video camera, I can burn some sweet vids, including this one, and me racing a turbo minivan. Keep up the *** kickin!

Not in Fayettville actually, in Raleigh. But like I said, I'll be going down that way one weekend soon for test and tune day. No 1/4 mile tracks around here so I gotta make the drive.

I am selling a Ka24E turbo kit if ne1 is interested. It has less than 50 miles on it. Kinda on the pricey side, but it was done the RIGHT way. It isn't some thrown together kit. ( and no i am not implying that anyone here has a thrown together kit..i have seen some nasty kits around..) It also comes with a freshly rebuilt block with 0 miles on it that has the oil return fitting installed already. I am asking $3,500 obo for everything. Contact me on aim (midnightslide) if you have any qestions about the kit.

wabernethy are you using a z32 maf on your setup. I was at fayetteville's dragstrip 3 weeks ago. The fastest import out there sat. was a 12 second evo, not alotta people showed. I did see a guy with a 280z with nos that ran a 13.65 but his car wasnt acting right and and he wasnt spraying. I also saw a 89 240sx with a sr20det run a 14.62 but i really wanst impressed, the night before i asked him what he ran and he said 13.s

I was at Fayetteville a month or so ago and saw that Evo. I actually ran against him. It was pretty sad. I think he ran like a 12 flat or high 11 on spray. Let me put it this way, he was turning around to go back before I even got to the end. I only ran a best time of 15.00 due to some issues with my car. My clutch was slipping so bad that I couldn't really floor it. I'm getting a new one soon. I guess I dumped it too many times.

I am not running a z32 but will be looking for one in the near future. I plan to increase boost to 15psi after rebuilding the motor and some other upgrades. Hopefully I'll be back down to Fayetteville in the late spring/early summer with the new stuff and looking for some better times.

Yeah, I've heard about 220 or so. It reads just shy of 90% at full throttle/boost/redline at 9psi. I won't take it any higher than 10 psi until I get the z32 MAF and that won't be until after I get done with the rebuild and stuff. I'm not sure what you mean by fuel cut, but I am using 460cc injectors, SAFC II and a Walbro pump. I'm still tuned well into the negative so I've got plenty more room to go up from here without having to worry about duty cycles.

Man, you Turbo motor guys suck! You people are the reason everybody gets scared seeing my dropped (coilover, not cut springs) car at a light with a shiny muffler tip (tanabe system, not rice can) and won't play 'cuase they're afraid to get *** whooped as bad as when they tried to run against a "rice 240" and found a turbo 4 can smoke a rumbly v-8. Sheesh, no fun anymore! (still deciding whether to go SR or KA-DET. Looks like it might be the KA becuase then I won't be wasting any money on things like taking care of the oil leaks and such it has now. Hmmm....
