For anyone who has followed (Learned'd Crew) here are the before and after pics...

The before pics were after I had moved some furniture, and had just started the demo work...

What was the Media Room, will be the Master Bedroom

Hallway

What was the Unused Room now the Media Room

Bathroom

After the remodel...

.....

The new Master Bedroom

Hallway

The new Media Room

The remodeled Bathroom

The bad-f***ing-a** job I did at joining the wood to the carpet... Way harder than you would guess...

Looks great! It appears though that cleaning up the mess made a bigger difference than installing the wood.

Wow you're good. haha.

My dad built his house and I helped build that when I was younger. I know how hard flooring is. We put all travetine (sp) tile throughout the house. It was a b**** n a half. I'm sure wood was easier though hah.

WTF is this doing outside of the "Around the House" forum?!

Totally kidding Bean. It looks f***ing awesome. You took on a serious load and did a great job. I hope you're getting a lot of butt for painting the bedroom pink though.

Media room is my favorite. Nice and spacious. The hardwood floors in your house look amzing.

Good job man

BTW what do you think you saved by doing it yourself?

Nice work. You must have worked like crazy to get all that done so quickly.

I helped finish the basement in my parents house (including a full bathroom/laundry room and a bedroom) and it was a lot of work. That included framing, sheetrocking and electrical work, too, though, which was a big portion of the work.

The mess was from me already starting. It was spotlessly clean a couple days before that. I had been patching drywall, and running electrical and cable wires.

Definitely plan on replacing all the doors, but I'm a little low on $$$ now, so that will be in the future.
93coupe wrote:BTW what do you think you saved by doing it yourself?
Over $2k.
G_whizz wrote:Is that "fuchsia" color on your Master Bedroom wall? It sure is purty
Yep, the room is pink. So is...

So yeah, it was a week off of work, but hardly a vacation. I am happy with how it turned out, and my wife is really happy, so that is all that really matters.

Thanks for all the kind words guys.

Looks good man. Not my kind of vacation. I stick to replacing fixtures.

I lack the patience to ever complete anything like that. I applaud your sticktoitivness.

Pink Walls = 0 points for manhood so your still ahead 10 for your completion of this task

good job

I choose not to show any incling of handiness so the bar is set low.

Ever think about changing those doors. I just install a real wood door on my bathroom. (it weighed a ton). I think i should stain it or something. I love helping my dad around the house. We also redid the tiles behind the kitchen wall.

Get some good knee pads and a rubber mallet. A table saw and a compound miter saw make it a lot easier also.

That's what i was asking about. I think calling it "remodeling" is a little bit of a stretch, I didn't see any walls come down, and the door frames are all original...

I don't mean to belittle your project, because it does look good, but it's definitely not "remodeling" as I know it.
