Can't duct it, **** it... I really wish I could tell you. I wish I knew. I've been through so much bull**** with this car. I try fix it and it just keeps falling apart more and more. My buddy has a rebuilt SOHC and I was wondering how difficult it would be to swap it out. I know I have to do the wiring harness, but is that just the motor harness or the electrical harnesses for everything (headlights, taillights, ect...) someone told me I had to.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I guess to try answer your question, I'm going to say my piston got owned by my head. Not without leaving a scratch on the head of course. The 4th set of valves look pretty I dentical to the second set.

that sucks. cool picture though. It shouldnt be hard to swap in an sohc, search for ka-e to ka-de swaps, then just work backwards. but why not just put in a fresh dohc? then you dont have to swap out any wires, plus you have the experience of taking this one apart to help work on the newer one. good luck with whatever you do.

lol thanks. Umm, I really dont want to. I just havent been able to find a cheap DE around here. like 900 dollars or some**** like that. My buddy has a SOHC that was in his car before he did an SR-swap, and he said he'd sell it to me for 100 bucks. It was rebuilt by him at school so I think it's a pretty good deal. That includes ECU so I guess I just need a wiring harness? And a gage cluster? He has an SR clusted with the overhead display that I may be getting also. I'm only doing it because it sounds more economical.

i've been through maybe 4 engines(+ a head rebuild due to bad cam timing, which looks like what happened to yours, maybe chain got loose or something?)

i guess its cheaper around here to get another dohc than over there.

as far as dohc>sohc swap, you'd probably need power steering lines too as the sohc pump is on the other side i believe, and the wiring harness which you'd need the sohc harness + maybe the cluster harness.

That doesnt sound to bad for the sohc. I dont know what good the sr cluster will do you though?

I saw one for sale in Ga the other day for $400Going to be cheaper to find a dohc. Call around the local tuner shops there that do rb and sr swaps. They probably sell for 4-600 for complete dohc's.

Where's the ECU homie???? You don't reply to people who buy stuff from you. It's been like 3 months already.
