my stock wastegate refuses to do what my avc-r tells it to do these days. and its no fun fuel cutting all the time. so im thinking about just putting the car away for the year, and start piecing together all the crap i need for an upgrade.

its a S1 RB25. im thinking about the following. PE 850cc injectors (do i need an FPR if im going this big?), garrett GT3076R, Tial F41 external gate (this too big?), possibly the phase2 peak perf manifold. if not that manifold, i'd just use the stock log mani.

right now im runing a Greddy FMIC, Q45tb, Greddy IM, Tial bov, RPS 6 puck, 3" DP, walbro 255lph pump, and an aem ems. i also have an aem uego O2. anything im missing? anything else you would suggest? im looking to make somewhere between 450 - 475 at the wheels. im just tired of dealing with this thing not holding boost. the way its going, the turbo is going to explode sometime very shortly. i can just feel it. i would rather just park it now, and do it correctly then have to deal with sucking up pieces of turbo. that would be another monster in itself.

just want some suggestions and whatever other advice you could give me. thanks guys.

you will need larger than a 30r to do 450-470 rwhp on pump gas... You can do it on race gas but your going to need high 20's to maybe 30 psi ish to do it. It really depends... Even on race gas you have more concerns about the oem headgasket, and head bolts...

Why don't you try removing the AVC-R and try a standard MBC?

i was under the impression that a GT30 could make that kind of power. ill have to add a fpr to the list.

I'm ready hook me up now Aaron... oh wait you need money from me first... heh

You'd be surprised what a GT3076 can do... either way a 32 sounds nice for your application as well. Yeah def want an afpr, not a bad idea right now anyway and not too pricey.

you cant get a BB 32, can you? maybe a 35r would suit my power wants a little better?

i have a buddy with a 35R on an evo MR, and another with a rsx S with a 35R. spool time feels like an eternity. and having 6 speeds, they dont get alot of time in boost before they have to shift. i was just afraid it would take too long. afterall, i dont have any experience with bigger turbos on RB's. im afraid that just having 2 more cylinders wont make enough difference in spool time. dunno, this is what i was looking at. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/...2.htm

maybe i'd be better off with the 35R?

If garrett makes it, I can hook you up with it.

BTW, I'm running a gt3076r on mine.

horsepowerinabox.com has the same turbo (garret 3076 and 3071) that bolt up to the stock low mount rb manifold.

i've got him talked down to $1950 shipped for the entire kit if anyone else wants in on the deal let me know

he says 450+ horsepower easy.

Lucky - I would go with a 3076R, maybe pm cdorhout about it because his setup is top notch!

Benefits of the GT3076R over 35R in your situation:1) Fits the stock manifold with only a 1/4" spacer flange.2) Fitting the stock manifold means you can probably run the same downpipe. AND manifold for that matter!3) Generates the power needed for your goals and spools faster.

I'm looking to put down around 600 hp next spring with a GT35R, but that depends entirely on how bad my gf wants a rock and how big my tax return is

On a side note, I would go with smaller injectors if you're looking for 475 hp max. 850cc will be more difficult to tune and idle etc. You can most likely get away with 650cc's.

What's included in this "kit"?

I'd have to check, but last time I did I could get you into one of those for easily less than $1500...

None right now, it's just sitting in the shop awaiting a little more time and a few more parts...

sounds incredibly familiar. in that case, what is your power goal? what wastegate do you have to go along with that?

i didnt find the 'kit' on hpinabox.com. i just found the turbo, and it was uber expensive. but came with nothing but the turbo.

if you do plan on going with a gt35, get the .63 ar if you plan to run pump gas all the time. ive got the .82 as yes boost lag can feel like eternity but when boost hits its bliss. the gt3071/76 sound a bit more streetable from what people are claiming ... or you could always use a 75 shot for a prespooler if you wanted to (my winter upgrade).
