So I'm doing my engine wiring using the FSM and the wiring diagram that seems to make its way onto every Nissan board showing how to wire together F8 and E10, etc. Now which are which on the 89 240? The two plugs which I believe are correct are coming out of the hole in the right side of the engine bay forward of the fuse/relay box. I thought these would be plugs coming from somewhere inside the engine bay itself, but maybe I was mistaken. Also, the smaller plug that comes right after the ECU connector that has I believe 18 wires, I think it's E116, how did you all wire that up? I could maybe assume it's just matching the colors, but you never know. This stuff wouldn't be so hard but whoever owned the car before me cut a lot of factory wires so my engine bay is a bit of a cluster.

For the connector next to the ECU, you need to splice the following wires:

Yellow / Red stripe - Tachometer signalYellow / Green stripe - Speedometer signalOrange - Ignition startBlack - GroundBlue / Green stripe - AC signalBlue / Black stripe - Water temp signal

These are all that are necessary for the gauge cluster wiring. The rest of the wires go to the "check connector", but it is not necessary to connect these. I just cut them off so they are out of the way. If you search, there was another guy that did exactly this and said his CA runs perfectly, and all of the gauge cluster functions properly as well. What I did was cut the gauge cluster connector off of the dash on the front clip, lengthened it 1.5' and used the connector of my KA harness. The CA gauge cluster plug (next to the ECU) and gauge cluster plug on the dash were both female, so I cut the respective male connectors off the front clip dash and KA harness to make a 1.5' "adapter" to just plug in, rather than splicing wires in the car.

As far as the battery area wiring, I too used the diagram that is on this forum. I basically just cut the connectors off the KA harness and spliced them in place of the CA connectors with the indicated wires. I was very lucky, though, and had a perfect uncut CA and original KA harness as well as the front clip to work with. I'm not really too sure what your question is about the 2 battery area connectors? If you aren't sure which they are, just look for 2 connectors that have all the same color wires going to them as indicated on the diagram.

My CA should run tomorrow. It turned over today but, it did not get spark or fuel. From testing it looks like the CAS is bad, so I will replace that tomorrow and hopefully it runs! :)

I just finished all of this last night, so it's all very fresh in my mind. shawya- go to http://www.srswap.com and look on the left side. Click on the "sr install FAQ" and then click wiring. That is what I used and mine works just fine. The is one thing though, the black wire doen't need to go to a ground. It is the ground for the check connector. Porshcephile-Did you make sure that you ran both the Black with a red stripe and a blue with a red stripe to the black with a red strip wire by the battery? I didn't hook them both up the first time and I had the same problem.

Yep, I sure did. The wiring was simple enough I could have done it very quickly, but I took extra long to make sure every solder connection was solid and that I spliced everything properly. Man, all those faq's don't lie, I got this wiring done in 1 full day. After doing the wiring, I can't believe that a CA or SR could be this easy! :)

Yea, I'm actually not done yet. I ran out of shrink tubing and electrical tape. I still have to move the ignitor and then I'll be done.

Thanks guys, that's gonna help a lot. I had always known that people were using a version of the srswap.com diagrams, but I didn't know they were that close to the CA. Now I just have to get my friend to replace the engine lift he managed to have stolen while borrowing it and I can get this beast in the car.

That sucks, but good luck with the swap!
