Wow, Infiniti you really ****ed this one up. The back end is horrible, the tail lights are nasty. The front is just as bad, and I don't like the subtle non pushed out rear wheel wells.

One note, the interior is nice. Except on a black leather interior, why do you still do the headliner in a beige??? It should be black Infiniti....

I apologize in advance to anyone who bought a G37, seriously though its no G35.

I testdrove one 2 weeks ago when my car was in for the 24k km service. I loved it. The interior was same as mine so that wasn't new for me. The exterior I love the front and I give an ok for the rear end. Handling was pretty good too. I would buy one if they had X. Maybe in 09.

I was prepared to buy a G35 6MT coupe after test driving a couple of them. However, by then, the G37 was only a couple of months away. I figured that it would be similar to the G35, but have the benefit of several years of engineering development.

That has proven to be the case. The interior (similar to the current G35 sedan) is much improved, the car rides better over rough pavement without sacrificing handling, and less road noise gets into the cabin.

Styling is a matter of taste. Neither the G35 nor the G37 has the timeless elegance of the 2001-2004 BMWs, 1995-1998 Porsche 911s, original 240Z or final 300ZX. However, I can live with either G.

Of all of the cars I test drove this summer, the G35 and G37 provided the best balance between comfort and performance. Since the G37 is an improvement on the G35, I chose it.

I respectfully disagree. I think the 03-07 G35 has staying power. I think they got it right. Maybe not to the same level as the 240Z.Time will tell.

You ever notice how when something new comes out, everyone WHO DOESN'T YET HAVE ONE thinks it's the dumbest thing since.....

When I got my G in '06 there was a bunch 'o people bagging on a lot of styling points. Now that I suspect there are few more that have them, suddenly they aren't as "lame".

I suspect that when the 37's become more common place (and people accept them more) they will become "just as cool as the 35's".... maybe better?

Not sure if this is a case of envy or just resistance to change, but just seems to be a tendancy toward this; especially with the automotive world.

I agree...I think the G35 definitely has staying power of it's own.

Sigh...I definitely miss my 240z's.

I too think the G35 has a classic look that will stand the test of time. I've walked around the G37 and sat inside...very nice. The interior is definately a slight improvement but not that altogether different. It was comfortably "familiar". When I asked the saleperson if he'd driven it he said yes but still preferred the tighter handling characteristics of the 35 and the better road/driver feedback. He felt the 37 was too cushy having sacraficed comfort for a more tactile experience.

I appreciated his candor and found that it was my preliminary thought as well. It looks very nice and I'm sure it won't dissapoint those who have either waited till now to get the coupe or find the need to "step up" from their older 35.

I just know that I'm very content with my 07' G35 and have no desire to rush out and upgrade. Cheers to those who do......

gang,

i live almost 5 hours from the nearest infiniti dealership. so, i'm wondering if any of you can give me an idea about headroom in the G37? it barely passes muster in my G35 coupe (sunroof), and i read that the headroom was less in the G37. did any of you notice less headroom in the G37 vs the G35?? thanks...

I think you will have better luck at the g37 section. I test drove one 2 week ago a G37 with sunroof I am 5'11" and drove a friends G35 coupe several times. I had no issue whatsoever. But I am not tall. Also I put the seat on the lowest possible all the time. I think the sunroof takes away from the headroom 1.5 inch or something like that.

What a dissapointment after seeing the concept car. Rounded front end with a hood line above the grill. Rear chrome spoiler...what are they thinking! Even the add-on spoiler...looks like an add-on spoiler. Better engine, better interior, but with all the soft and rounded lines it looks like a Lexus SC. Pretty bland. I was ready to trade in my 03 coupe after seeing the concept car. What did I do? Bought a 07 G35 with 6K miles...$32K.

Those BMW's are pretty forgettable with regards to style IMO.The G is far more elegant than the 300ZX and FAR more memorable than the Bimmers, again IMO.

My biggest problem with the G37 is that it's looking heavier, styling-wise, than the G35. Too swoopy in the front and a rear end that would look at home trailing Rosie O'Donnell.

Which is why I bought an 07 G35 Coupe before it was gone forever!

no offense to those with sedans...but imo the only G35 that has timeless styling is the coupe...

as for the bmw 3 series...the previous generation is certainly recognizable to many people...but just how many different ways are there to wrap-up the same sausage??

LOL I totally agree. Sedans are completely different.

Same here. I agree the coupe is totally different from the sedan. Sedan is more practical than the coupe for the everyday driving. It is not timeless.

How about the interior of the 35 vs 37?

You spend most of your time in the car so that should be more important.
