So apparently Nissan decided to use the same rod bearings for the CA engine series as it did for the L20E/L24E. I'm not sure if that's helpful in any way, but they are the same part number, just different quantities.

Oh wow, along with the same rod bolt part # for ARP. Interesting that they used similar technology from an NA engine to turbo.

I doubt it was NA technology. The L20 came in a turbo... L20ET. The CA was after these engines as far as development goes, so I'm sure they saw no point in changing something if they had already engineered it once. The L20ET was also pretty common in Japan IIRC, so it was tried and true. Has anyone actually checked the rods other dimensions? Maybe Nissan just used the whole L20 rod design?

At least from part #'s, the rod is unique to CA18/CA16DE(T).

If Nissan made some minor changes to the forgings, it would have a new PN. I meant design like dimensions. We know the big end is the same size. What about the small end and length?
