soo with the miles piling up on my faithful cressida; the two and a half years of abuse are finally starting to show the signs of trouble. I descided i should start looking for a new daily. I will write a final farewell after i list her for sale and give a final review but I knew i couldnt pass up this sweet new beater.

volvo 240.... recently my gf bought one that was really clean, and after driving it/ working on it the simplisitc and utilitarian features moved it to the top of my list. I wanted a four door or wagon, for hauling things and summer trips and while most of the econoboxes ive searched felt shaky and way over priced.

specs

1990 volvo 240

198k miles
five speed
four door sedan

sunroof
super rad roof rack

needs:
a few things for inspection (mostly a new tailpipe as this one is held on by a coat hanger)
a new owner to love it and take it on some new adventures

final price? 600

i am diggin it already. sure its not going anywhere fast, but it is the ultimate cruiser. drives the same as the gf's with 110k more miles on it.

:)

Congratulations on your recent TANK purchase.

They may not be the best looking car around, but they run forever.

Get some low offset steelies and that car would look great for what it is.

I LIKE IT. Its Sweden's equivalent of the Crown Victoria -- physically durable and easy to work on. I wish I had a 240 wagon for the bookstore.

My friend wants me to help him build a 2dr 240 daily. I want it to be T5 turbo at 400hp. We'll see how that goes.

Find some way to get the different headlights/front end instead of messing with those fogged up poops.

One of my exes had a late-80's 960 Turbo wagon, that thing was a beast after the turbo was replaced and a simple tune up was completed. I opened the hood one time, swallowed hard and closed it again. Vowed never to touch anything I saw under there, lol.

Does yours have any other weird electrical gremlins?

i already fixed the headlights..... and timing belt should be done this weekend hopefully..... ill get some new pics; but its so dirty/grimy its sorta an eyesore

i had a few problems with the taillights; a common issue it seems. honestly no problems so far; im getting about 27 mpg mixed driving... not bad for something that was abused for 200k.... im gonna probably freshen up the interior, and im toying with paint touch ups and painting the steelies....
