And it sounds great. I was not that excited about it, since the Maxima's intake didn't do a lot for sound. But damnit, this s**t sounds awesome. Sounds the same as stock up to about 4500rpm, after that it is a different car.

Now, the downside. That stupid foam and rubber POS that they send you... was cut the wrong way. They had the strip backwards, when they cut the foam. I called JWT, because I tried it about 20 different ways, and they agreed (after emailing pics), that it was a manufacturer error. They said they would ship out another one free of charge, but I did a little cutting of my own, and a little black duct taping, and it's all good.

So all in all, it functions correctly, and sounds good. The heat shield leaves a little to be desired IMHO, for $160. I expected a little better of a product. On a scale of 0-100, I give this product a 60. Better than stock, but leaves a lot to be desired as far as manufacturing quality and R&D.

Beancook, where did you get the combo for 160.00 ? I want to get one, and I have a friend who just bought a G, so Im talking him into getting one also.

So after having it installed, do you just see the pop charger as something that effects the sound rather than performance ?

and on your rating of a 60, is that based on perfomance, if so w/out performance what would you rate it ?

Thanks for your help

Pop was $160. + shipping. The Z-tube was $60+ shipping.

Performance wise I rate it at 15.

Sound I rate it 90+ (from 4500rpm and up. Below 4500, it sounds stock).

Aesthetics, I rate it 55.

Guess if you average them out, it's overall rating is 53.3, not 60.

Treat the MAF assembly as if it were a vagina. Be soft and gentle with it. Other than that, there is not much you can break.

When i bought my Z it had the pop-charger on it w/ heat shield, i didn't like the dull look of the heat shield so i polished it, turned out great, it looks so good i left it on even with the injen CAI. May serve a purpose in keeping the air cooler on its journey to the motor. My plenum stays cool to the touch until the motor heat warms it after sitting shut off but i also have a composite plastic plenum (Kinetix V+). Try the polish, and put a little d*ck into it when your polishing it, it will turn out nicely.

Just a note on the JWT intake for 2008 G-37 coupe. Just got a note back that they are working on the seal with the hood and will let me know ( and others I'm sure) when it is ready for sale.

I think I'm gonna go with the JWT Pop Charger for my G. Is it possible to buy just the Pop Charger and then get the polished Z tube so it has a better look under the hood? I see them on Everything G35. The JWT kit is $195, the Pop Charger is $110 & the polished Z tube is $97. Can I use this combo or is there gonna be something missing that the kit has?

As far as I know, the kait is nothing more than the pop charger and a z-tube. All I bought was a pop charger from JWT, and the Z-tube from Stillen.

Just go with the Pop Charger for $110 and the polished tube for $97. Don't forget to get a bottle of oil for when you need to re-oil.

Ok thanks. I figured it would work together.

How necessary is the oil? Does the filter have to be oiled?

Yes, it has to be re-oiled when you wash it. It will come from the factory pre-oiled.
