Alright, figured out my IACV is what is killing my idle. I printed off the IACV servicing found in the FAQ, but how the hell do I get to it? Am I supposed to remove the upper intake manifold just to service the damn thing? If so, how long of a job is it, I have the time just wondering. Alos, went to adjust my idle, disconnected the TPS and started the car. Car was sitting at 2000rpms!!!! Anyway, I go to adjust, which by the way them damn hoses needed to be relocated to make it easier, and the screw top starts to fricking strip out!!! RRRrrrr. Well, if anyone can supply some quick answers I can get to work on them today, otherwise I will have to wait until Friday.

What year is your car?

Removal on my '90 isn't difficult at all...you do not have to remove the intake manifold (unless you feel inclined to do so). Couple of screws and hoses and the entire thing unbolts from the back of your intake.

Vague enough?-Dave

It's a 93. I think I will not worry about at this time, the problem isn't affecting my gas mileage, nor is it all the time. It seems to only happen when the temperature is near the 60s (I live in Florida, right now its mid 70s). I do plan on decarboning the engine with seafoam within the next week, so MAYBE that will fix it. I also need to do a coolant flush and flush out the coolant passages. The heat sucks right now, the vents MIGHT start blowing what could be considered warm air after a 35 minute drive doing 55 most of the way. Other than that, the car is fine and I am loving it!

OK maybe I am a complete moron (bring it flamers) but I was jsut over at the FA boards and they said fixing the IACV problem was a 2 minute job. Step by Step can somebody tell me how to do it, because I don't see how it is possible with it buried underneath the intake manifold.

It is secured to the back of the lower plenum with four 10mm bolts, just remove it and unplug it. Maybe more like 4 minutes.
