Guys,Some of you might remember the pics of my '73 after I brought it in a few months back. Well, I have been working diligently on the motor swap and managed to "finish" it just in time for the Japanese Classic Car Show last weekend. Here are a couple of pics of the new engine

And here is a video of when we got it fired up. Please excuse my lame commentary and questionable hair-do. It had been a long few weeks and the excitement of hearing it run got the better of me.

With the help of a few friends, I actually managed to complete this swap in just under 1 month. I still have a fair amount of work on to do on the car. Not the least of which is improving the brakes and suspension. I have only opened up the RB26 in second gear but it easily overpowers the existing equipment.

Okay, here is a walk around video now that I have had a few days to tune it. The idle was a bit off and there was a little hesitation. I tweaked the fuel pressure a bit more and let it run for an hour to purge the radiator and let the computer learn again. I took it out for a spin today and finally got to see what she can do. It's scary. The thrust is obscene. It squats the rear end so hard that both rear tires are rubbing at boost. I'm running everything stock right now and actually still need to re-do the exhaust. I only had enough time to connect it to the existing 2.5" system already in the car. I plan to open it up to 3" or 3.5". I'm also running a 3.54 rear end. This will be swapped out for a Nismo 4.85 R200 I have. I know it sounds high, but stock R33 RB25 transmissions are geared with 4.38 diffs from the factory. So it's not too far off. My only planned mods to the drivetrain aside from these are a set of HKS 2530 turbos and some 600cc injectors for a bit more boost. I have some more work on the car itself. The suspension and brakes will be heavily modified and I have a new set of wheels that will go on at the same time.

Whew....Had me for a second. I was going to get REAL upset if you pulled the S20 out of a real k&m GT-R. Nice work however. Needs some detail work, but all projects do.

I went out with a friend this afternoon and shot a few videos. None of them are too intense as there seemed to be a cop on every corner of my town today. I did happen to get a chance to open it up some on the way home though. A guy in an Acura decided to pass me on the shoulder as two lanes converged before going through a large dip. As we exited up the hill it splits into two lanes again. He is probably about 4-5 cars in front of me and once he reaches the top he guns it. I waited until I reached the top and went after him. It was not even funny. Wait, check that, it was hilarious. I opened it up in second gear, caught him within 100 feet and shifted into third as I passed him so that he could hear the BOV. I put about 5 cars on him and shut it down. The look on the kids face was priceless. As I passed him on his left, he's looking at me with the expession of a blonde working on a quantum physics question. His brain just could not process what his eyes were seeing. Anyhow, they are not much, but might be somewhat entertaining. And yes, you do hear the tires squealing in one of them.
