so since ive got my s13( it was fully stock) about 4 years ago i have always heard this popping noise coming from the front suspension area, it drives me nuts!! i though the issue was the shocks so i replaced them with coil overs, it didnt fix it so then i pretty much have worked replaced and upgRADE almost whole front suspension set up wanting to desperatly figure thi s*** up lol i havent been lucky at all, im about to get a power brace for it see if it works ( i dont know anymore its driving me crazy!!) pretty much every week i get under the car inspect eveything i make sure that nothing is loose and in order, everything seems to be fine. My friend is also experiencing the same symptoms on his s13, this popping noise happens when i reverse or when i do a U turn or a slow turn. When it pops the car jerks a bit toward the direction im turnin. Does anybody know what to do on this???

what you could do is put the car on a rack and shake around all the suspension and steering components for play to see if you can hear the knocking. you have to do this with load, meaning car's weight is fully seated, and with no load.

yes, i have done that a couple of times actually everything seems to be tight and just to make sure i even try to get it tighter i have checked: coilovers. spring, ball joints, lower control arms, sway bar, sway links, inner and outer tie rods, front tension rods and front bracket support. Am i missing something??? anything? it pops pops and pops grrrrrr

probably its your pillow ball bearing on the coils. since you said only on turns. have you tried to torque the lightly with an electric gun. just 2-3 quick soft burst will seat them fully. other than that, someone has to diagnose your car in person. typing the symptoms alone doesn't necessarily help.

could be but i hear the poppin noise coming from under, i will def try to tight the pillow bearing with the impact wrench, i was think maybe motor mounts will make the car make that noise?

Torque it to manufacturers spec.

I was talking about the bushings that go in the mounts that hold the rack to the car. That was the first thing that came to mind when he said that his car would jerk towards the direction he is turning. If the bushuings are worn/missing the rack will shift and caust the car to jerk in one direction or the other depending on which way it shifts.
