So I'm cruising down the road, and have had a Sheriff behind me for about a mile. I have obeyed every traffic law, and have no reason whatsoever to be pulled over. Next thing I see, is the lights of his Christmas tree...
I pull over, and roll down the window. He gets out, and with his hand on his gun, he states Driver, Turn off the vehicle and exit the vehicle. Keep your hands where I can see them".
Now I've seen enough episodes of "Cops" to know now is not the time to ask questions or get smart with him. I shut off the car and get out. He asks me to stand at his front bumper. He then asks where the registration is at. I tell him it's in the upper glove-box. He goes and gets it, and walks back toward me. I ask him what the problem is, and he states: "I have reason to believe that this vehicle is stolen".
My freaking jaw drops. I think all I said was "WHAT??? I have owned this car for over a year, and been pulled over before, with no problems."
He then says that the registration and the plate do not match the vehicle. The registered vehicle is an Infiniti G35, and this is a Nissan.
I busted up laughing.
I told him to match the VIN numbers, on the dash, and the one under the hood on the inside fender/strut tower.
He did, and said "There's still something fishy about this."
I then explained that in the US, Canada, Korea, Germany and Saudi Arabia, it's an Infiniti, and all over the rest of the world it's a Nissan.
He walked over to his car climbed in and got on the radio. A minute later he got out, and was beat red and laughing.
I was laughing also, and he apologised a few times and told me to have a great day.
That was the best time I've ever had being pulled over.
