Hey guys, I finally decide about the engine i want for my car. and i found it ! although it's not exactly here! it's on the water somewhere. It's from Jarco Inc in Canton, GA . The clip has 45k miles and came with Auto tran but, 5speed tran is included as well as rear diff. (All this come From tlking with Michael H from Jarco. Highly recomended to talk to these guys. )

It's should be here sometime next month. So while i'm waitting for it. i'll get all new belts. water pump, head gaskets, clutch and flywheel. and mybe T28 let's see how far my money will take me. I already have Walbro fuel pump, Apexi S-afc, Boost gauge, Defi VSD boost & timer, Apexi EGT. Does anybody know where is the best place to buy those stuff??PS: i'll prefer to get after market metal Head gasket who have the best for our CA?? where and howmuch?and does NIsmo Engine and tran mount for SR fits??

If anybody wanna help a newbie out and maybe tell me what else will be a good idea for the swap. it will be very helpful. Thank C :ylsuper :D

Congrat on the clip,

I am getting my Nismo metal headgasket from Boost_boy, the price is pretty good. He is always on the forum, so it should't be hard to catch him.Regarding your SRmounts, I believe they do fit, there was a treat about a week ago where one of the members did install them. Do a search on them, that might give you more info.

i guess if you want to get accessories...NOPI would be the place to go. as far as gaskets, go through the dealer. there are two NOPi locations in ga. northside and southside atlanta. those are the two i know of. there may be more.

if you need a motor set when your engine blows, god forbid, NAD auto has some good stuff.

Well nothing flashy or bling bling for me, just what is needed to refresh the engine up. and some maintenance stuff that SHOULD be done prior to installing the engine. :rolleyes bt all input and info are welcome. Thnaks C

T belt, Water pump and new Gaskets, Seals. Ands replace all the hoses. The Gates belt from Napa/Oriely is a good deal and a great part.

I wouldn't be so quick to try and change the headgasket. I mean, if it's not broken, why try and fix it and especially if it's an automatic because they are the least abused. Timing belts and water pumps are an iffy subject. Change them if you want to, I've had this engine in service for nearly 3 years and it's still using the factory water pump and timing belt, though the water pump started pissing a bit before my track outting, but I have the means of shutting up those little things like that. If you're worried about them, change them. But for you guys that don't know what you're doing, put the cam timing on wrong and you'll wish you never touched that belt. My motto is: if it ain't broke why fix it! Your engine will tell you right away if it needs this stuff changed, no matter what they do to clean it. At least in RWD fashion, these parts are not hard to change and if the ever start going bad they can be accessed.

So if I were you, I would just give the motor a general inspection, possibly change the rear main oil seal and just throw that puppy in and get to work. I would be trying to ditch that auto ecu ASAP. Other than that, you just bought a clip with a lot of useless stuff to get rid of, unless you plan on going auto.

Hey, dee thank you. Well rear main seal will be change anyway. and when i go and pick up my clip next month . they willstart it up boost it and make sure everything is in good shape. The reason i went with auto is bc it has less abuse just like u said.and I'll be looking into 5spd ECU. well pretty much as of now. replacing parts is not my main concern. i can change it inside the car or out , but out side will be better. thanks all :ylsuper C

yeah what he said.

watch out for the timing belt. look for a maintainance sticker on there. if its been more than 60K miles go ahead and change it. just make shure you set the timing before you pull off the crank pulley. the ca is an interference engine, and i took safety precautions and went ahead and changed it. and also because my water pump was leaking.

oh and as for water pumps...buy a water pump for a ca18et RWD from 86 or something 200sx. that way you can still use the mechanical fan if you choose.

does the manny transmission they are giving you come with a lower harness too?

what part of AL are you in?

you use the KA lower harness... don't worry about it:) Some of the plugs might be slightly different, but you can re-wire the KA ones to work. I did, as did the majority of people here!

Umm what are the differences in the ecu's ? If you want to change a auto to a manuel do you need to get a 5 sp ecu?

So what does the sub harness control? Is it ok to leave it off or will I have to splice it into somthing. In my case I'm swapping it into a 200sx and using the old ca18et transmission.

No, I don't think you can use the auto transmission lower harness if you're going to use a 5 spd transmission.

My stock lower harness is from a 5 spd KA. not auto, my CA18DET is AUTO.

he's converting the CA clip he's getting from auto-> 5 spd and he already has a manual KA in there now;)

don't worry about Ryan Loofee, you can use your existing KA lower harness that is in the car, and it bolts right up to the CA stuff. Some of the wires may have to be re-done (I honestly don't remember if I did anything down there or not), but I'm sure we can help you figure that out here:)

Well now that I understand what's going on, yes, do what Sean said. I think you have an extra plug on the KA harness that you don't need on the CA harness. Other than that you should be golden. Just find a CA transmission and you'll be all set. Sorry for the confusion!

no, CA heater hoses are easy, just do it yourself... they basically go to the right place already, just use KA stuff, or whatever you can find from Autozone. I just used a piece of the KA hose and a straight piece from Autozone.

I used a KA hose and cut the ends off a little bit. Mine works perfectly.
