Sorry about bumping this.
Here is CT Governor Dannel P. Malloy's email address:
[email protected] His phone numbers: 800-406-1527 and 860-566-4840
It would be much appreciated if you could take a few minutes to email him and possibly help save the ferry. It's been in operation since 1769 and is the second oldest ferry crossing in CT. If this goes through, the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury ferry will also be closed. It originally opened in 1655 and is the oldest ferry crossing in the entire country.
If you do send an email, please include this information, even if it it's just a copy and paste.
The Connecticut River ferries are enjoyed by out-of-state visitors whose patronage is essential to the survival and growth of local merchants and tourist venues, such as Gillette Castle and Devil's Hopyard state parks.
The Chester-Hadlyme Ferry is used by EMS vehicles as a short-cut to emergency health services. For those living in the Hadlyme area, the ferry is a necessity, not a luxury.
DOT needs to seek federal funding for Connecticut's historic river ferries, which have been operating for over 350 years.
