I got a Minolta X-700 with a 50mm 1.4 lens. This is my first time shooting film aside from snapshots when I was a child. It's a whole lot of fun. Thanks, Aaron!

9. This is the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry entrance. The state is trying to shut it down because it doesn't bring in enough profit or something. I see no reason why they should close it unless they're losing money. In that case, they could just raise the price to $5.00 (right now, it's only $3.00 per vehicle and $1.00 per pedestrian or bicyclist.). Both towns would probably take a financial hit too.

Thanks for looking. :)

Nice pics, as always. I hope they decide to keep the ferry open. Would be a shame to lose it.

Thanks. And, yeah... it's a really fun thing to do and is the reason I have even gone to that part of CT a few times. There was a lady on the ferry passing out fliers with information on them. I think there was an email address to complain and hopefully stop it from closing. I'll try to find it.

Chester, CT is a really neat little New England town. Lots of colonial homes and small shops. It would be sad to see it start to lose businesses because of the lack of tourists and visitors. I'll get some pictures of the town too.

you have to hit up kent for the falls, plus that town's main street rocks. stafford springs is really cool, too. i know there are plenty of others, but i never paid attention to which town i was in as i drove through over the years.

I know a few people who shoot at the falls. Cool place.

Sorry about bumping this.

Here is CT Governor Dannel P. Malloy's email address: [email protected] His phone numbers: 800-406-1527 and 860-566-4840

It would be much appreciated if you could take a few minutes to email him and possibly help save the ferry. It's been in operation since 1769 and is the second oldest ferry crossing in CT. If this goes through, the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury ferry will also be closed. It originally opened in 1655 and is the oldest ferry crossing in the entire country.

If you do send an email, please include this information, even if it it's just a copy and paste.

The Connecticut River ferries are enjoyed by out-of-state visitors whose patronage is essential to the survival and growth of local merchants and tourist venues, such as Gillette Castle and Devil's Hopyard state parks.

The Chester-Hadlyme Ferry is used by EMS vehicles as a short-cut to emergency health services. For those living in the Hadlyme area, the ferry is a necessity, not a luxury.

DOT needs to seek federal funding for Connecticut's historic river ferries, which have been operating for over 350 years.

So the ferries are paid for by tax dollars? If they operate at a profit, where does the surplus revenue go?

I'm thinking this would be an awesome start-up.
