Well, in case you did not know this, it is still 2007...there are still new G's out there..I have been shopping them....So there is "Such a thing"rjdmmfl1 wrote:Willy, just like we have newbies that don't know their offset from their intake, such is the case sometimes with new stealers at the stealership! Its not just a problem with Nissan.
All of the problems you mentioned about the A/C I agree with you on. The leather is nice, but not the softests I've felt in a car. The rear seat is impossible to get into! The head room is small and the trunk space is smaller. I'm a short guy, so the only thing that bothers me is the trunk room. But I purchased the A/C also, and I agree with Eric 100%. You will be happy with every aspect of the A/S. I even think I like the way it handles BETTER than the "sporty" A/C. But that's just my opinion.
Oh, but one last thing, there is no such thing as a "NEW" G35. Since they stopped making G35 coupes in the 2007 model (which released in 2006) It would be hard pressed finding a new G35 coupe. But you can def get a "gently used" G35 coupe! At this point, as long as you don't mind the RWD, that may be your best bet!
woo buddy, calm down, no need to get excited. I said a agreed with you on pretty much everything you stated.wild willy wrote:

And about the leather....That was the one thing I liked...It was hundreds times better than mine...
As far as the trunk...I don't know..it would not open.
I don't know where you work, but, if I knew my job like that..I'd be fired....That's not Mc Donalds and I am not buying a 90 cent cheeseburger with no pickles........I am looking at 30K plus cars......Now these salesman have nothing to do all day long but sit and look at these new cars.....Maybe they could pick up one of the pamphlets and fockin read it??
I realize it is not limited to Nissan.....But I have shopped Infinity and Acura and they knew those cars inside and out......
I have an 02 Altima I bought new in Oct 01. The leather is disgustingly cheap hard and plastic like. I drove that car until 2004 when I leased a GTO for 2 years and put the Altima to sleep during that time. The interior and leather of the GTO was the Tits!!! Made it difficult for me to even consider a G35 or even getting back into my altima.rjdmmfl1 wrote:

If you can find a "Brand New" 2007 G35, then that's great. As I said, it would be hard pressed finding one, but maybe that's due to markets. It's probably a lot easier finding them where you are than here in San Diego. Also, my point about that was that 2007 models come out in 2006, 2008 models come out in 2007, etc. So to find a brand new 2007 G35 that hasn't been used as a test vehicle or something is a great find! When I said there's no such thing, I was thinking of 2008, so that's my bad. I would actually think that if you can find a 2007 brand new, that hasn't been driven, you should be able to get a hell of a good deal!
As for the leather, what kind of car where you in before? After sitting in a G37 and the 2008 BMW's and mercedex Benz's, their leather just seemed more supple!
haha, yeah, I always do a vast amount of research and then I play dumb to see how much the salesman actually knows...johnny_d wrote:I always do research before going to the dealer and half the time I get one of those salesman that knows nothing about the car and tries to argue w/ me about stuff
I went to 3 Nissan dealerships before getting my coupe. One never returned my calls, one was trying to sell me the dealership, and one knew everything about the car and showed me how to work everything.SHIFT_2.5S wrote:It's a case by case thing. I've been to dealerships where the salesperson knows the car very well (in terms of marketing it to someone) and I've been to dealers where the salesperson is just that - only a salesperson, and has no idea about the car or any of its options.
No problem, but I'm curious, what kind of prices are they asking for locally for the remaining 2007 G35's? It just seems to me that they would be trying to get rid of them now. The G35 was and still is a great car. And at base price, I think it is a comparable deal to the fully loaded A/C. But of course there are numerous reasons to choose one or the other! Also, how did you like the leather in the G35. I'm guessing you liked it since you liked the Leather in the Nissan.wild willy wrote:

We are definately in different markets. There are 2 dealers for me to use here, both are 100 miles away. They still have quite a few left of the G35's. Hell, there are still new 2006 GTO's on the lots....(Not hard to believe I suppose).
Sorry..it's the Italian in me that gets me all riled up
I just hate cheap plastic...It squeeks and rattles

Maybe it's the Italian in you that's got you expecting better quality leather than the US made crap ... lol ...Italian leather is very soft!
I do the same. Sometimes it's funny; other times, it's just annoying.guitarmn07 wrote:

Are you serious? One simple tap on the dash with your fingernails would tell me otherwise. Nissan has really upped their game on the playing field as far as interior materials are concerned. They actually use soft plastic like Honda and Toyota, not that cheap, hard stuff found in years prior. Read any reviews of the '07+ and they'll all say that the interior was improved greatly over previous years; especially the materials used.Dexion wrote:I don't know but if you ask me 05-06 on the Altima's had the best interiors. The 07 is nice too but still has that hint of cheapness, just not as obvious. The 270hp VQ makes up for that though.

Don't know that I'd say that.....I am not impressedgeneric808 wrote:
But against the 07+ there is no comparison in quality.
Every comparison is relative. When you say that you are "not impressed," you are subconsciously comparing the quality to another vehicle. Which are you comparing it to?wild willy wrote:

I may be wrong, but I think he's comparing it to an 01?SHIFT_2.5S wrote:

The 01 Quality I thought we were talking about............SHIFT_2.5S wrote:

MATERIALS only...Nothing else can you compare.....The 01 is plain uglywild willy wrote:

Nissan just can't get that feel right for their plastics...It's like going to Toys R Us and feeling the interior of a Power Wheels...
I did like the CP, I liked the lines..I liked the lay out.......The wheels were too small, but that can be fixed. It could be one sexy ride.....If they would just turn that motor a 1/4 turn put a driveshaft in there...and Booya.....The rebirth of the 240 SX I bought new in 1988........The car was an 89...
Of course..I was single and no kids that I knew of at the time
I have been watching what the G37 are going for and that has been mid 40's That makes the AC look a lot better.....
Really don't want a used car, and I just love the looks of the coupes. Do not want a bigger car....I want a coupe that had the back seat room of my 04 GTO..which was better than my 02 AltimaMagicM wrote:If money isn't too much of an issue and you're worried about materials and quality, move up to a 2007 infiniti M. it has plenty of space for your kids, top of the line materials from infiniti, and offers a V8 instead of just a V6 and both come with awd. If you don't mind buying used iam sure you could find a nice clean 06 m35/m35x for the price of a new g35/g37.
