So I found this old 240Z...

The car has been sitting under a canopy for 10 years. The owner said that the car will run with a little TLC. He said it has a 5 speed transmission and the head off of a 280Z installed. And it includes the original trans and head. The rear glass is gone, and one of the tail lights is shattered. I have a couple questions though. The car is a 1973. I live in CA, will I still need to get it smogged? And, if the car has just been sitting, is it possible that I will have a huge bill of past due registration fees to pay to DMV when I go to register the car? The price is under 2000, sound like a good deal? Thanks for the help!

it is possible that there is s*** load of ticket/past registration on it.

best thing you can do is take the vin/license down and check with dmv

as for the smog, last time I checked anything before 1976 doesn't require smog. however there is a bill called AB2683 to overwrite this, I do not know what comes of this as of date.
