Yea it’s probably a little crazy knowing I need to replace a bushing but I had the long stretch on I-81 and my foot just went to the floor... the Q pulled hard to 120, and continued to climb up to 150 mph when at 5300 rpm the computer chopped me down.. it was as smooth as silk- at 5300rpms at 150mph there’s no doubt in my mind the VK would do 180 with out a limiter- but 150 was enough- even with my suspension switch set to sport I could still feel the car kind of toss corner to corner.. that and a lot of wind whistle after 130- I have new Good-Year Comfortrac tires and according to Sears it’s illegal for a tire store to sell you a tire that doesn’t meet the required rating for your car. So, I assumed the Good-Years were good for 150- this has been the funnest car I’ve ever owned, close was a 97 Eclipse in high-school- anyone who says they’ve gone over 150 in a F50 would be suspect.. cause that’s the end of the line for the F50.

Something happens to these cars around 100 mph - the suspension settles, and they just float down effortlessly... so I hear :couch
Good touch keeping good rubber on the wheels. Btw, any chance you checked the engine oil before or after the run? I'm curious on what kind of consumption those speeds render to the VK

OT:
Glad you've come to like the car and it qualifies as your most fun one. Did you narrow down the grease drip you had to a bushing?

Thanks Ed, yea I narrowed it down to a bushing and the “advisor” at Harper Infiniti said it may be years before I have to replace.. if I notice irregularities in tire wear or difficulty getting alignment, then it may be time to replace.. so far so good..
As for the oil consumption pre 150mph and post 150mph there was zero to unnoticeable change in levels. I recently switched from Royal Purple to Mobil 1 0w-30 since is carries Mercedes 229. And BMW LL-4 certificates to use for 10-15k intervals. Also the Long Life Mobil oil filter. I am at the 9500-10k area now and have added 1 quart in the 10k. So.. looking pretty good.. the Mobil 1 is the one that says it is low sulfur and EASY on catalyst.

I thought about your observation on the suspension and decided to read the entire section in the FSM, I don’t know if other models without adaptive suspension do anything, but the 2005 was ONLY availible in one variant and the active suspension was standard.. I digress, at 60mph the computer places the suspension in “sport” automatically without alerting the instrument cluster light. Also the self diagnosis function for the active suspension has finally proven to me that the suspension does anything at all since it’s hard to notice the difference in either setting....

Yes the Q has found a place in my heart... I had the resonator removed along with the electromechanical “flap” in the “active muffler” and put a Magnaflow muffler on and just wow.. Zero droan, and I would compare the sound to a few of the M power BMW’s or maybe the late 80’s early 90’s last Toyota Supra. Sounds great.. you know your in the presence of a V-8 but not a “redneck” lol... :mike
