My Stillen strut tower bar finally arrived in the mail, and it looks good installed, only there was a problem.

While installing the strut tower bar, I some how managed to break off one of the front right strut bolts (don't ask, I guess my working out is finally starting to do something), meaning right now, only 2 nuts are holding my strut on aswell as the bar.

Anyone able to tell me what kind of repair/replacement I'm looking at here? Do I have to replace the whole strut assembly, or will I be able to replace just the top plate that has the bolts attached to it?

Also, I'm how safe is it to drive around like this? I'm going to have to make atleast 2 more trips in it before I can get it to the shop to get this repaired.

Any info is greatly appreciated, pics and review of the product will come after all this is taken care of and I can get the right experience with it.

The strut assembly will have to be pulled out. The strut mount plate will have to be replaced. It is fairly easy to do, but you will want a torque wrench when you re attach the strut assembly.

Alright, thanks, thats what I was hoping to hear. I actually have a torque wrench which I was going to use to install my strut tower bar, but in my excitement to install it decided to just hand tighten everything thinking it would be alright. Then I found out that I'm the long lost son of the incredible hulk and everything went down hill.

What about driving with the broken bolt? Unfortuantly I had to drive it home tonight, but I made sure to take the turns easy and avoid pot holes and bumps and only once or twice noticed a weird sound (which may be from the strut tower since its not sitting exactly perfect right now). Will it be alright, or am I only making it worse by driving it to the shop?

Driving it to the shop should be okay. I would not take it anywhere else though.

You might do this on your own over the weekend. It's actually pretty easy to do, if you can get the parts.
