yep that's right, its not in bad condition. its everything i want; manual, sunroof, damn good looking car, but it had 120,000 miles on it. i think i might be crazy but i passed on it. i test drove it and the engine seems fine to me but that number was in the back of my mind. i know i can always swap the engine, but im not planning to do that (no yet, but we'll see what the future holds ;-) so....was i right to pass on that car?

that milage isnt too bad. 240's have been known to go on to 200,000mi and then some. if its everything u want jump on it. the engine should last u quite some time. you could always swap in a lower milage KA for cheap when the time comes.

If you plan to do any performance-type mods to the engine and you decide to get a higher mileage engine, please please please rebuild it (I'm talking big mods, IE. turbo, nitrous)

yeah thats not too bad especially if the engine sounded/felt good. you should do some maintence on it such as timing chain, oil, trans. but that is standard for any used car purchase.

I think you're lucky to find one with "only" 120k, (especially s13s), I bought mine about a month ago w/ 147k, it still runs great, i'm pretty confident that at the very LEAST I'll get 200k. Just take care of it and you'd be surprised how long these engines last :)

120k miles is actually pretty good for an S13, but the fact of passing on it? howmuch was the car going for? i mean if it had 120k miles and ran good and the price was right id jump on it fast.

totally agree, 24os are getting harder and harder by the day to find, and 12oK for a 1o year old car is only 12k per year, thats actually fairly low mileage than most you would find

I bought mine with 132,000 on the clock, and it ran like a champ till i pulled the motor out for my swap at about 144,000.

what year was it? unless it was a 97-98, 8 grand is pretty outrageous for a car w/ 120k.

Depending on what year it is it doesn't sound like a bad deal. I have 179K on my 92 and my friend turboed a 89' with 197K. Miles don't matter, just worry about timing chain and tensioners being changed recently. Timing chain tensioner noises suck. Nick

I have 130k on my 89 s13. I checked my compression yestruday and it was: cylinders 2-4 were at 160psi and cylinder number 1 was at 130. Poured oil int he cylinder and the compression raised to 160, so I know the rings are bad on that cylinder, but really, 30 psi difference isn't all that bad since I dont plan on doing anything but suspension mods to the car

Dude, 8k, so what man, its really easy to talk people down, and a dent so what, easily fixed, cracked window also easily fixed. I would go buy that car and talk him down on price, and SOON, and anotehr thing, offer him something else also not jsut money, makes it easier tot alk him down on price. Good luck

I am planning to sell my 1995 Black S14 (manual) with quite a few mods:

300zx brakes front and rear, with Brembo slotted and cross drilled rotors and 1 month old Axxis Metal Master pads

Suspension Techniques lower front and rear strut bars, Stillen front Upper Strut Bar

Eibach springs/Tokico (Blues) shocks

Clarion CD deck, Sony Amp, Bazooka tube and Kenwood 6X9's

17X8 and 17X9" Mahdi Caesar revolution wheels with almost new tires 235 and 255 rear

I just changed all the belts, Water pump, fluids, thermostat last weekend

SE Cluster

The bad:A few dings here and there, scratch on front passenger fender, no Emergency brake and needs a subframe bushing

shoot me an email if you are interested, I am 10 minutes fron Long Beach and can meet with you whenever

i'm about to buy a 1990 240 with 120k miles for 2100. Paint is in super faded condition, but interior, engine is good. Don't know if it's too much for a 240, but in the bay area these are harder and harder to find. BTW, anyone want a 5spd 1990 240sx w/ 167k miles for 1000?? Rear quarter panel damage, current registration good for 2 years. Need to sell asap thanks! It's on craigslist under east bay area also.
