So as some of you may know, I had ordered a set of Stance LX+ coilovers for my s14, back in JANUARY. On this past monday, over 5 months later, they came in. Monday was the day of my graduation so I wasn't able to get to them, but the next day I woke up bright and early and started. Installation was pretty straight forward: take off old, put on new, throw away misc leftover pieces that probably had a semi important purpose. Here's some pictures from before. the car was sitting on Tokiko blues with Eibach pro springs:

Please mind the chalk. Like I said, it was the day of my graduation

As you can see, it already had a decent drop. With the stock se wheels this was low enough to please me, but once I got the 350z wheels, I wanted lower. I didn't really take any during pics, so here's a few of the coilovers and afters.

The greatest box I've ever received:

Review:
So far, Im extremely satisfied with these coilovers. Compared to the tokikos and eibachs, they are a little bit more firm, but the don't bounce when you hit a nice sized bumps. They absorb the impact nicely. I have them set at 8 clicks from hard all around. Body role was reduced tremendously. The pictures I posted were at the first settings. The next day I went out and raised the rear a little, dropped the front some more, and adjusted the front/rear camber. The only downside is I can no longer park in my driveway. The entrance a really high hump, and I would scrub even on the tokikos/eibachs. I'm going to go out and take pictures my car as it sits now after I wash the car tomorrow.

As a side statement: As much as I love these coilovers, I will most likely never buy from stance again. Waiting 5 months WAS annoying, but it didn't kill me, but the fact that I was told twice that they would be in on a certain date, and then a week after that date I would call to see why I haven't heard anything, and then was told they weren't on the container, but they will be in on "X" date, really pissed me off. There is no reason for this

On another note, my next project is going to be the swap. I've already gotten most of the parts for it, so I just need the engine. What I have sitting in my room is:
*FMIC
*Radiator
*Gauges
*HKS SSQV
*Fidanza Clutch Kit
*New OEM Oil Pump(on order)
*Full Gasket Set
*ARP Head Studs(on order)
*1-Piece Driveshaft
*Water Pump, T-Stat, Belts
*300zx TT Fuel Pump(installed when I had to replace my cracked gas tank)
*Other Misc stuff

So the coming months should be semi exciting, So wish me luck!

Can't complain about Stance. It's lower and meaner looking now. I normally don't like the look of Z wheels on 240s but yours looks really good with them :bigthumb:

About damn time that is just rediculous five months. They could have atleast gave you a discount or a 25dollar in store credit or something.

Now you can sell me the tokicos and eibach. i will come pick them up its only like a hour drive. :yesnod

Thanks everyone. It was well worth the wait.

LoNimso- it wasn't intensepower's fault, and they did compensate for the amount of time. Also, I've already sold my old setup to a friend. If he decides he doesn't want them i'll let you know

Bro I ordered these same exact coils from IntensePower and it was some BS that stance pulled on these. I called every few days checking and they kept delaying their shipment without telling their venders. I just put them on my car as well, on some g35 wheels and i love them. They really do ride pretty close to stock, however keeping the car planted nicely. I ordered mine back in DECEMBER and got them LAST SATURDAY. 6 months for them. These are great coils for daily driving though, I'd recommend them for anyone who wants a nice drop on their daily driver. P.S., what tire size are you running in the rears?

agreed. Like I said, the quality of these coilovers are amazing. It was funny how much I actually had to raise the rear to get the tires to even fit in the wheel well.

Im running 255/35 on the rears, 225/45 on the front. I need a full alignment, and I already know that once the camber is fixed in the rear, Im going to have to do a pull on the fenders.

I'm running some horrible tires in the rear lol. 235/50s. i'm tuckin them pretty good now and when i hit bumps sometimes it rubs on the tire well because of the sidewall being so tall. I think i'm a little lower than you right now, but are you having any trouble with rubbing on the wells and wiring harness on the drivers side up front?

I haven't had any rubbing in the back, and I hit a nice dip in the road at about 55 and it rubbed on the front passenger side. On my nice day off I'm going to pull the fender and raise the harness just as safe measure

lol thanks guys. And lonismo, Ill take a picture when I have everything. Some of it is still coming. As for the motor, Ill have everything for the swap sometime in the next 2-3 weeks, then I get to start saving for the motor. I'm going to try to take a small loan out to get it faster.

Now time for opinions. I want to make my engine bay nice and clean. Im going to sleeve all of the cables and paint the bay. the valve cover is going to be red I think, and the coil pack cover is going to be titanium. My question is, what color should I paint the bay? red or black.

this picture has me leaning towards black:
Image

I_LOVE_JDM I hope you don't mind me using your picture

I just think that the black is a nice contrast, and as long as I do it right and keep it clean it won't look like a wrecked car that was repainted a different color. what do ya'll think?

I vote just clean the hell out of it unless you plan on paiting you car black. Just my opinion thats kindof a turn off for my when the bay is not the same color as the car. :yesnod Now ihave been thinking for a long time on whether i should paint my car black, and i might after the swap. :gapteeth:

I need to paint it, the paint is chipping in a few places and it bothers the hell out of me. I love black 240s, but I also love red ones, as long as they are clean. I need to have mine repainted soon, but that's down the road when I have money

you don't need to pull the fender and raise the harness. this is waste of work not unless you're planning on super slamming with wide a** wheel and meaty tires. you'll rub the wheel well plastic guards before hitting your harness. I doubt you'll hit your harness. you just have to relearn how to drive now that the car is on coilovers.

well Ill be pulling my fenders off when I do my swap so Ill go away and raise the harness then. better safe than sorry. As far as relearning how to drive, not so much. I just have to reroute the way I go to work and whatnot and enjoy the benefits of having less body roll

Repaint it the same colour. Red is the best colour s14's come in imho.

Your rear looks good in those shots, front needs more low

Ok, so I finally had some free time to wash my car and take some pics. These were taken on my sh***y sony point and shoot, so don't expect awesome pictures. This is how the car is sitting now. I'm thinking I'm going to lower the front just a little more

I currently have the damper set at 6 from soft front, 4 from soft in the rear. This seems to ride pretty much just like my tokikos/eibachs but I still get less body roll and bouncing.

Also, here's a few pics of my build up of parts. Not everthing is in yet, which is why it's small

Prosport gauges: Boost, Oil Pressure, and Air/ Fuel Ratio

My HKS SSQV. I'm excited about this thing, sorry about the crappy pic
Image

I got this 1 piece steel driveshaft from Z1. I know it's not aluminum but whatever
Image

Next week I will have everything except the engine. I'll probably turn this into my minuscule build thread.
MORE TO COME!
