i wanted to paint my engine cover body matched paint, but i couldnt get a hold of the right paint and decided to go with "toyota red" lol, as previous owner of a integra and a integra type R lover, i thought it would be ok since i have a white car...

And the fujita LOOKS AND SOUNDS AMAZING >< i had some problem trying to put the 3'' tubing on to the throttle because my engine was still hot making the throttle expand by a couple mm

Only question is, after replacing the intake, the engine bay has a big openng to hell... but i guess i can live with free space in under the hood..

nice job man!!

loookin goood!

did the filter come in that red color standard? thats pretty nifty

how hard would u say it was to remove the stock intake and install the fujita? (i have only minor car mod experience like replacing headlight/fog bulbs... rotating tires...filling up windshield wiper fluid and removing/installing my greddy silencers lol lol

also can u take a video of the fujita with the hood closed?

From a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being hardest) id say removing the factory air filter system is a 2. But im standing at a NEWB point of view too, a couple screws and waala its off

Yes the fujita filter came that color, and yes i find it quite sexy :D

And il have videos up for you when i have

it looks very good.. however, for factory color paint in aerosol form, I think if you search engine cover in the Altima forums, you will find a thread where I have pics and a link to where you can get the stuff!

Looks good.

Shouldn't that Fujita have a second band securing the hose to the pipe itself?

wow you guys are sharp eyed... to be honest...the second band i lost the nut thing (LOL)...and i will put it on once i have time to buy/look for one

And for the paint...i didnt want to wait to order one, not even a single day. I know where i could of gotten the paint, but the day that my *** was itching to paint the cover was a sunday.. and i think red looks better (contrast :D)

I kinda like the red under the hood. I think it ties in nicely with the battery distribution block and the air filter. One small red piece under the hood looks a bit odd to me. Now, there's a decent amount more. Plus, I think white would look out of place under there. Could be just me though. Anyway, nice job!

Theres other parts of the factory intake you can take out if you like... directly to the left of the batt... that whole funnel shaped thing, and the piece to the left of it can go...

some people say it helps... i say it takes up too much space~!

i perfer that funnel shaped thing because the engine bay looks so empty without it...it already has a gap/hole in the engine bay because the fujita is smaller then the factory box by alot

I did use clear coat, but i chose a less glossy finish, because the intgra type R's had the flat red powder coated finish, which looked kinda nice

wow my old thread....

i used hmmm "duplicolor" and it was Toyota Red LOLI wouldnt suggest using that brand, because they dont offer bigger sizes spray bottles, and it cost like 12 bucks for a small bottle that barely had enough for medium coat. bought 3 bottles to complete this

A side note, u dont need high temp paint for engine cover, the engine cover itself does not get hot enough to melt the paint off, its not hot enough to even burn ur hand. And to prove this, my paint has lasted well on the engine cover

quick question...do i need high temp engine enamel paint to paint the engine cover? cuz i screwed my cover up and was wondering if simple auto paint would work.
