Correct, the removeable hard top makes it instantly acceptable for many events, like HPDE's, which adds to their appeal. But while you do need some space to store them, they also extend the life of the summer vert top for those that store the car outside in snowy winters without a cover.

I agree with Greg that the 5 point harnesses are unnecessary unless you intend to track it regularly. I know a lotta people like the "racy" look even if they never use it on track. But you can always do what many "dual purpose" Miata owners do: simply leave the harnesses alone and re-install the OEM belts, giving you the choice of using either.

In my Saab I taped the head unit remote to the top of the steering wheel hub so I can adjust the volume without reaching over for the knob every time I get off the highway. Music sounds great in that car because the speakers are mounted on top of the dash, facing the wraparound windshield which reflects it directly to your ears. Wind doesn't get as much of a chance to distort the sound waves.
My base model NA has headrest speakers. I do the same thing with the remote, it lives in the cup holder for easy access.

You might be the only person I've ever heard say that they LIKE speed sensitive auto-volume. I hate it with a passion. If I wanted to turn down Skid Row's "I'll Remember You", I'd turn it down my damn self.

Yeah I normally hate it on normal cars, but f***, wind noise increases substantially with speed on verts.

You should give mine a drive ;)

Torry did in Atlanta and I think he's still smiling. I've never heard him giggle like a school girl before that day.
